Re: [expert] KDE theme manager
That would be so awesome because even though I belly-ached and carried on about never going to Mdk 7.2 because I had bad experience with KDE2beta I've fallen madly in lone with mandrake 7.2. Re: [expert] KDE theme manager
They don't make it obvious, so here `tis [from the README supplied with one of the first KDE2 themes] --- To install: 1. Unpack aquatica.tar.gz. You can use archiver(ark) program from KDE. 2. Now you have Aquatica folder with two folders in it: a) Pixmaps folder and b) Themes folder. 3. Copy file aquatica.themerc from Themes folder to: /.kde/share/apps/kstyle/themes folder in you home directory. 3. In Themes folder there is another Aquatica folder with *png files. Copy this folder (whole folder) to: /.kde/share/apps/kstyle/pixmaps folder in your home directory. 4. Open Kcontrol - Look feel - Style, and choose Aquatica theme. --- --- Good luck, Mike -- Mike MacCanaSupport Consultant C Y B E R S O U R C E Level 9, 140 Queen St Melbourne 3000 Ph : +61 3 9642 5997 Fax: +61 3 9642 5998 On Sun, 24 Dec 2000, Mark Weaver wrote: On Sunday 24 December 2000 20:51, you wrote: KDE 2.0 and 2.01 don't have a theme manager in their final releases. I think you misunderstood my question. I'm looking for the program KDE Theme Manager. I have the tarball, but there's a problem somewhere and I would like to get the .rpm version to install the binary to my system. It does not currently exist on my system and is not found on my installation Cd's either. -- Mark "If you don't share your concepts and ideals, they end up being worthless," "Sharing is what makes them powerful." RE: [expert] KDE theme manager
Mark There is no theme manager available for kde 2.0 or 2.01. There is supposed to be one in the next release. Your only option at present is to use the Legacy Theme Importer which is included in kde2. The only problem is that I know of no one who has had any success with it. Good luck. And, if you get it to work let me know what you did. Hey I can't believe it...I can actually help someone else for a change! Paul gave me this fix for the known bug (as Denis calls it) regarding .kderc ... fix follows: as root do a chown user.user for .kderc e.g. chown fran.fran .kderc or chown bambi.bambi .kderc Works like a champ! martinto fix your problem (assuming that your login name is martin): 1) in console mode login as root. 2) type: chown martin.martin /home/martin/.kderc Alan martin hansen wrote: I am having trouble with the theme manager i KDE, on my mandrake 7.0 system As root i have no problem, but as normal user i have the following problem.
