Danielyou should probably not stick a metal screwdriver (the metal changes the adjustment, so when you remove the metal screwdriver, the setting you just carefully arrived at changes) in those holes. There are special plastic ones for that purpose. Radio Shack sells a pack of five different sizes of these for a somewhat paltry sum (as Radio SShack prices go). I'd suggest picking upa set. The problem is you need a thin screwdriver to place inside the holes to make the adjustments. However I can't see how one pinhole can control +/- values. I'll play with tonight. Thanks... Dan.

You probably know this... The monitor has 3 Adj. knobs? If so then you can use these to size the Horizontal and Vertical and position the picture. You may be able to adjust the picture to see the entire projection.
Re: [expert] zenith monitor scan frequencies needed
Those sync values are for a VGA ( 640x480 ) monitor and will not do 800x600. Your X-Windows problem is probably vitual desktop which could be changed, but then some applications would not fit on your screen. Dan. Doesn't it have anyhing to do with the cohoice for a virtual monitor when you confugure X? If you havn't tried that, try it! You just say "no" when you are asked if you want a virtual monitor, larger then your screen. -- Piero
Re: [expert] zenith monitor scan frequencies needed
This one sounds more like a hardware problem than a software problem. Try looking to see if there are controls for horz and vert on the back of it. A lot of older monitors had them externally. The newer ones do it from a superimposed control panel. If you can't find any, you could if you are brave enough and willing to risk a 20,000 volt arc start playing around with the controls on the back of the tube but I wouldn't recommend it. However a mister fix it in one of these small used computer parts stores might be able to do it for you. It really sounds like the guns are out of alignment and not exciting the full screen area. DrakConf is a frontend launcher for the various Drak tools. While this frontend doesn't have a text mode, many of the tools that it lauches do. Re: [expert] zenith monitor scan frequencies needed
Dan. I've had simular problems with my Optiquest monitor even though I know the mode lines. What I have been able to do since 7.0 is use DrakeConf I just accept the best XF86Config will give me (even though it "passes" a higher test). Then in DrakeConf I'm able to set my monitor and resolution without a hassle. You might try this and see if it works for you as well.
