I find it very useful to analyse and criticize the behaviour of people
in position of power and control over others. We can thank many of the
advancements in our societies of this freedom of thought. Societies
where criticism of leaders is not allowed are much worse of.
Criticising MMY is no other than criticising the actions of any other
leader. The criticism may be misplaced, that is not the important
point here. Important is that people can criticise, when they don't
approve of someone's actions.

Why are you so anxiously trying to prove criticism of MMY to be
somehow useless? Do you feel equally bad when Bush is criticised? Very
few are in a day to day contact with him. Do you think that only those
people who are in a daily basis working with him should be allowed to
criticise him? Or only such a criticism would be valid?

I agree it to be refreshing to look at MMY from different angles, some
of which are approving and understanding. And precisely the same
applies to the president of your country. At least for me it is an
even more refreshing experience.

Anyone can say what they want about him. I have no personal

my daily practice of meditation. He has no negative impact on my

Quite honestly I learn more from just neutrally observing what is

discussions about whether it means this or that, or attaching myself

That is a good position to be in. I had that kind of position in
relation to TMO and MMY for almost 30 years, just observing them and
keeping a certain distance. I very seldom expressed my critical
thoughts aloud. That made possible for me to learn many things through
that organization.
This silence didn't make critical thoughts go away though. All that
happened was that I talked less with TMO people and rarely engaged
with them in serious discussions. I just talked with them about safer
topics like food, health, weather etc.

Yep. Actually if I had any critical thoughts regarding Maharishi I'd
probably voice them. As for the TMO, I have no dealings with them or
thoughts of them at all.

I enjoy this forum most of all to be able to talk openly about

Sure. In my case and probably many others, it depends on the level
of interest and/or concern. I can't really summon much interest in
the goings on of Maharishi or his followers. A stray opinion here
and there and that's it. I allow any thoughts and feelings about any
subject. I'm simply not interested to the same degree about
everything.

You know:
Who really understands anyone else completely?
No one really can ever know someone's experience
completely;
And the english language is quite limited.
So, say what you will, from your heart; don't be

I find Maharishi to be an enigma, personified. Sometimes I will have
a glimpse into what I think part of his 'strategy' is. However I
refrain these days from saying he is like this or that, doing this
or that.

One valuable lesson I have learned from Maharishi's actions is to
always be open to a certain level of change in my life- not to be so
quick to nail stuff down. It is a busy modern world we live in and
the propensity for many of us is to make quick judgements about
stuff so that we can securely file it away and move on to the next
thing.

To be aware of someone like Maharishi, where such snap judgements

It stops the mind from positioning one's self in
relation to MMY with a story about how bad or how
good he is. For most of us these judgments have no
practical impact because we have no day-to-day
realtionship with MMY. If one was in daily contact
with MMY it would be a lot more interesting.

Longer term for stressful.

There are people who post regularly and are selective about posting
when they are going to contribute something meaningful, tehrefore,
when I see that they have posted I go out of my way to read what they
say. You, on the other hand, like Ingegerd said, seem to take great
delight in using your red ink pen to say something about everything.
Who cares about a significant portion of what you write? Be more
selective, settle down, find another hobby, something, but try to
limit your posts way down.

Just as any king has to have a court jester, maybe every chat group has to
have someone who over-posts. Ron Fried used to fulfill the role. He dropped
out after Mark Meredith posted a hilarious satire:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FairfieldLife/files/Humor%20and%20Satire/Ronol
ogy/

Or

http://tinyurl.com/4o3u7

I'm not saying we want sparaig to drop out. Just me more discriminating. If
nothing else, his motivation could be the desire to have people read his
(fewer) posts rather than skip them all.

Did you notice that Akasha 108 dropped out after I posted a satire
about his never-ending cut and pastes about housing prices. I didn't
intend him to drop out but I guess he only wanted to discuss the
future housing market and nothing else.
