[Finale] JW Lua/Halloween: How to scare your script
Hello all! As a performance test of the JW Lua beta plug-in, I made a video of a Halloween script that might be fun to watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmLNyzgLoVQhd=1 Best regards, Jari Williamsson ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale

Re: [Finale] Split Finale Document
maybe not a concern for you, but last year when i had to split a big file because i ran out of frames, i duplicated the file and kept the layout identical in both. that way, the page numbering and measure numbering was intact (obviously i know i could change this manually). i found it useful, when i want to go to whatever page in the score, it is the same page (#) in the file. in my case, it was useful also because i kept at least 10 pages on either side of the break to give me flexibility in generating the PTs (where to make the break). also no fighting with page layout / margins etc. i wrote up a sheet to know what pages (SC+PTs) had to be printed and it went smoothly. if it was easy enough for 60 parts (!), i suppose it should be even easier with normal orch scores. rock on ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
[Finale] Printer problem with Maverick
Hi everyone, My upgrade immediately practice has bitten me big time this time. Maverick does not support the old printer driver for my HP 5000, and neither Apple nor HP will take responsibility. HP wants to sell me a $4,200 CP 6015dn (a color printer that I don’t need - nice but not necessary) for $2,500! Ouch. The 5000 worked fine up to now. Are there workarounds? Anyone have suggestions? Should I revert to OS 10.8? (So far, I see no big advantage to 10.9 for me, and this seems to be a big disadvantage.) Thanks for whatever wisdom you can share. (If it is time for a new printer, are there less expensive large format printers that work well?) Re: [Finale] Printer problem with Maverick
Hi Chuck, Can't help with the HP, but RE: large format lasers, I've been reasonably happy with my Ricoh Aficio SP6330N so far. http://www.adorama.com/RCASP6330N.html I was initially apprehensive about this model because I had a terrible experience with my previous Ricoh printer (AP2610), but after speaking to some SP6330N owners who had good things to say, I decided to give it a try. I'm happy to report that this model seems much better constructed and designed than the 2610. It's also by far the most affordable large-format laser on the market. Thanks, Darcy. I will be on the road (NYC Europe) until mid November. If a solution has not been found by that time, this sure beats $2500! Re: [Finale] Printer problem with Maverick
If the printer is a postscript printer, you could try the Generic Postscript printer driver. Or you could run a virtual Lion and print from there. Hi Robert, Tried the generic driver - same result - printer error. Don’t know what you mean by “virtual Lion” but I will try to research that.
