GarageKey - http://www.dvforge.com/garagekey.shtml The Perfect Keyboard For GarageBand We built the GarageKey simply because we love to play with Apple's wonderful GarageBand software, and, because there has just not been a small, elegantly designed MIDI keyboard available that matches nicely with Apple's product styling, and is small enough to actually put somewhere on most desks. The existing keyboards are bulky, complicated designs that may be great for trained keyboard players. But, they just don't match up to the real needs of most Mac users who decide to begin experimenting with GarageBand. That problem is now solved... with GarageKey. Review - http://www.powerbookcentral.com/columns/hildreth_kravitz/garagekey.shtml For the money, GarageKey is as good a USB MIDI keyboard as I've seen available in the US. What you see is what you get, and if you like its good looks and space-saving design and are really just interested in plucking out some melodies and experimenting a bit with GarageBand's MIDI capabilities then you'll probably dig GarageKey. After all, you're just the person MacMice had in mind when they designed it. Carlberg Carlberg Jones Guanajuato, Gto. You'll be given an option to "Open With," with a number of options, with the default appearing first in the pull-down list. Once an application is selected, you're given the option to "Change All," which will cause similar files to open with the chosed application. Carlberg Jones Guanajuato, Gto. Re: [Finale] OT: How safe are DVD-Rs?
At 1:24 PM +0200 10/9/04, Johannes Gebauer wrote: >How safe do people consider DVD-Rs as a backup media? Safer/Unsafer than >CD-Rs (which are not all that safe from my experience). Hi, Johannes - I've used CD-R's for backup for several years now without problems. Also, within the last year, I've made a couple of DVD backups, but in addition to the CD-R's. I think there's much less of a chance that DVD's will be readable on machines other than mine than CD-R's. Now I use an external HD which is partitioned to hold three complete backups if my computer's HD if it were totally full, which it never is. HD's are not expensive, especially if you get the enclosure and drive separately. The price point seems to be just under 200GB. So, now I backup on the external HD, and the important stuff on CD-R's. My next related project is to make a bootable partition on the external HD. Regards, Carlberg Carlberg Jones Guanajuato, Gto.
