I don't like this workaround for several reasons, not least of which is that I then lose the expression's auto-positioning capabilities. Also, while in my case I don't need the expression to print in parts, if I *did* want it to appear in parts, this workaround would make me go into each part and adjust the position of each expression, which is not good. I think the workaround I posted (blank notation staff style) gives a better result. Aaron. ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
Re: [Finale] Fin2006 opaque expression bug
Probably what is happening is that the notes are drawing after the expression. Try attaching the expression to the following system so that it will print after the notes. I did each line as a text expression with a frame and opaque background. When I place the expressions in the score, they do blot out the staff lines behind them, but not the rests. Changing to real rests doesn't help, and the same thing happens if I place the expression over notes.) And does anyone have a workaround? Text blocks don't seem to let me do a frame *or* an opaque background, so they're rather useless. Only thing I can think of is to create each one as a graphic and import it, and that's a big pain in the rear.
