gperiodic works for me on 10.9/Xcode 5.1 using fink-0.36.4--and it
doesn't seem to throw any warnings about unused compiler flags.

I tried to contact the site which is the master mirror, and they blew me
off. To get around this issue you can switch your rsync mirror in
fink.conf to one of the two that updates autonomously:

rsync://ber.de.eu.finkmirrors.net/finkinfo/
rsync://hnd.jp.asi.finkmirrors.net/finkinfo/

or use "fink selfupdate-cvs" to switch update methods.

Copy the files wxgtk2.8.info and wxgtk2.8.patch from
/sw/fink/dists/stable/main/finkinfo/x11 to
/sw/fink/dists/local/main/finkinfo. Then change the Revision field near
the top to 8.1, and put a # symbol at the very front of line 93 (the one
with '-dead_strip'). Then try rebuilding wxgtk2.8.

It looks like the clang from Xcode 5.1 no longer likes the -dead_strip flag.

There's probably no real reason not just to go with what you have
installed via the binary distribution. I don't think the changes needed
to build the package with Xcode 5.1 have any runtime effects: the first
is supposedly chooses between two nominally equivalent syntaxes for an
option, and the second takes out a link flag which isn't even used.

I went ahead and applied my changes to the package in the distribution,
at any rate based on the feedback from Jens and my own tests.

Your issue is with libxslt, not imagemagick.

A fix has already been made, but the people who run the master rsync
mirror blew me off when I asked about why it was stuck, so I don't know
exactly why you're not getting the fix.

Switch your rsync mirror in fink.conf to one of the two that updates
autonomously:

rsync://ber.de.eu.finkmirrors.net/finkinfo/
rsync://hnd.jp.asi.finkmirrors.net/finkinfo/

or use cvs.

[Fink-users] libmpfr4-shlibs can not install

2014-04-06 Thread Nikita Kalinin
Dear all,
I'm trying to install polymake on mac 10.9.2
Finally I succeded to compile gmp and mpfr (and so I have gmp.h and
mpfr.h), but nothing works with libmpfr4-shlibs

nikaan:trunk nikitakalinin$ ./configure --with-mpfr=/usr/local/include/
checking C++ compiler ... ok (g++ is CLANG 5.1.0)
checking fink installation ... ok (/sw)
checking fink gmp installation ... ok
checking fink mpfr installation ... Fink package mpfr-shlibs seems to be
missing. Further configuration is not possible.
Please install the packages mpfr and mpfr-shlibs and repeat the
configure run.

Then I tried to install libmpfr4 but I get en error as below.
Could you help me?

these mailing lists:

Re: [Fink-users] llvm-gcc42 fails to build

2014-04-06 Thread Gary K. Olson
I have llvm-gcc42-2336.11-7 installed from the binary distribution. I was
wondering if it would be better if I added Alexander’s suggested perl scripts
to the llvm-gcc42.info file:

> Adding
>
> perl -pi -e 's/module/export_dynamic/' llvmCore/Makefile.rules
> perl -pi -e 's/-no-undefined//' llvmCore/tools/edis/Makefile
> llvmCore/tools/lto/Makefile

> /sw/fink/10.7/stable/main/finkinfo/languages/llvm-gcc42.info to get rid of
> some flags that are no longer allowed in the current clang allowed the build
> to work for me.

So, I added this to my PatchScript block:

PatchScript: <<
  #!/bin/bash -ev
  sed -e "s|@@FINKPREFIX@@|%p|g" < %{PatchFile} | patch -p0
  mv build_gcc.fink build_gcc
  chmod u+x build_gcc
  perl -pi -e "s|DEVELOPER_DIR|BUILD_DEVELOPER_DIR|g" %b/GNUmakefile
%b/llvmCore/utils/buildit/build_llvm
  perl -pi -e "s|--enable-werror | |" %b/build_gcc
  perl -pi -e
"s|developer.apple.com/bugreporter|http://sourceforge.net/p/fink/bugs/|g"
%b/gcc/version.c
  perl -pi -e "s|LLVM_VERSION_INFO \"|LLVM_VERSION_INFO \" as Fink %n %v_%r|g"
%b/gcc/version.c
  perl -pi -e 's/module/export_dynamic/' llvmCore/Makefile.rules
  perl -pi -e 's/-no-undefined//' llvmCore/tools/edis/Makefile
llvmCore/tools/lto/Makefile
<<

and attempted to rebuild llvm-gcc42 and I got the following:

This looks like an error in the same place as Jens Kaufmann failed before he
inserted the perl scripts. Obviously, I have more wrong than Jens or Alexander.
Question: Is attempting to build llvm with the perl scripts the best way to
go, especially since I have the compiler-wrapper fink setup and a working
llvm-gcc42 from bind-dist? If, it is a good idea, what should I do next. Thanks
for any help.

I got:

[MacBkPro2:~]:-bash:502$: fink dumpinfo -ePATH gelemental

PATH=/sw/var/lib/fink/path-prefix-libcxx:/sw/bin:/sw/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/X11R6/bin

So, I think I am ok with the updated fink.

If elemental is dead upstream, maybe our efforts would be better spent on other
issues. Chalk one more up to Apple destroying part of X11 and gcc in their
efforts to make the Mac more secure.

Please try exactly what the error itself tells you:

locale-gettext-pm5162 often builds incorrectly if /usr/local/lib/libintl.*
exists. Please move aside /usr/local and try again.

[Fink-users] ghc-binary fails to build

2014-04-06 Thread David Forrest Phillips

Folks,
I was trying to build pandoc under fink 0.36 and OS X 10.9; it requires many
ghc packages. The very first GHC package, ghc-binary fails to build with an
invalid preprocessor error. I don’t know anything about GHC and with a few
seconds of staring at the build directory, I didn’t really understand even the
build process to try to debug this problem. Can anyone help?
Below is what I hope to be the relevant fink info and the end of the build
process excluding a bunch of warnings but showing the error that leads to the
failure.

  Thanks for any help
David
