That is very true Mike.and of course each persons monitor displays
colors differently...the picture certainly didn't do 'waldo' justice,
let's put it that way!! and as I am not up on the 'colors and
characteristic' of such, I will have to defer to the more knowledgeable on
the list. that was just my first impressionand might as well pipe
in, that I didn't get any weird website either.just the one listed.
only thing I can think of is some of the links come in looking like
HTML.http://www.blahblahblahinstead of just the actual
link like in Mike's signature below...maybe if clicking on it l(ike in
the above example) somehow it could have had a misspelling in it or
something...I usually cut/paste when they look like that..

None that I have found yet. It has to do with copyrights & patents as far
as I have been able to figure out. It isn't that they can't make one that
would but it would apparently be illegal for them to do so. Or at least
that was the story I got from the manufacturer of them.

I went to have another look at the fjord for sale - and he's gone! Sold
quickly?

There were two things that would make me suspect a cross: Small eyes set
quite high up on his head (not typical "fjord" face) and a high tailset.
Then again he might be just a pure fjord born like that, but that tailset is
unusual.

Not really weird at all Mary. The "Old" Destron chips were a lower
frequency than the newer ones are. They changed the frequency to be able
to use a less power hungry (smaller) scanner like the newer ones are. The
old style Destron scanner will read both the old & new frequency Destron
chips. Of course it won't read the Avid or the ISO style unfortunately.

Tee Shirts - Countdown

2002-08-21 Thread Steve McIlree
This message is from: Steve McIlree <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Well, we're really getting there! I only need four more pre-orders
and I'll be able to go to the printer. I've even had a person who
does not subscribe to the list send an order for a shirt. Now how
about a couple of you people who have been on the list since nearly
day one putting in an order? I know there are some of you who didn't
get a shirt last time and haven't ordered one this time. Come on,
  only four more!

For hopefully the last time, here are the facts and numbers on these
tee shirts, based on a print run of 100 shirts. They will be printed
on a high quality white 100% cotton tee. The four color silk screen
picture is the Fjord checking E-mail on the computer, created by Pat
Holland, which is on the List page (http://fjordhorselist.com). Over
the picture are printed the words "FjordHorse List" in black. The
price is $11.95 for sizes small, medium, large, and extra large. The
price for 2X is $13.45, 3X is $14.95. All prices are US dollars and
all orders will have a shipping charge of $5.00 for up to three
shirts, and $8.65 for four to six shirts. Anyone who is interested
in getting shirts, please contact me by private E-mail
([EMAIL PROTECTED]). Please send NO money at this time!
Remember, I need only four more pre-orders to maintain the prices
  quoted above.

Gee, I went to the site and it was just what Brigid said it was - a ranch
with horses for sale. As for "Waldo", he looked OK to me other than being a
bit 'light' in the rear end - and I'm sure that's just under developed
muscle. He could be FBA registered.

Yes, I thought of that also. Wonder if the seller has
ever tried having the horse scanned for a microchip?
Might be he could be positively identified that way.
I assume most recent microchips are more "universal"
than the old ones used by the US and Canadian
registries. My old mare has a microchip that has
defied being read by anything except a Destron reader.

Yes I am sure it is the same horse. This is exactly why I will not change
the names of imported horses that are submitted for registration with the
NFHR. I will combine those 2 now that I know about it so they are not
duplicated in the database.

I think the one your looking at is still probably in Norway. A lot of the
horses in the database are only there for pedigree purposes. If the horse
does not have a NFHR registration number then it isn't registered with us.
The stallion PRYDARSON N-98-2625 who is a decendant of Ramstad was
imported from Norway by Pat Wolfe and is currently pending NFHR registration.
