Sherri there is a spinal problem that can be surgically repaired and it can
come on at this point in life. I know a horse who had it at seven and after
surgery was used in dressage to second level. Good luck, Jean

Hi Janne: That is great about Lucky! I was wondering if you still had her.
Hope the foaling goes well and you get a really nice filly out of her.

Sheri -- I am so sorry to hear about Red. I met him at Patti Walter's and
always liked him. Hope you can find out what is wrong soon.

Hi,

My name is Gayle and I have a 5 year old gelding Fjord
named BHF Magnus. We live in Douglas Massachusetts. I fell in love with "Mags"
when I visited Norma and Bill Coli at Blue Heron Farm in Charlemont MA. I was
searching for a horse after my husband and I built the barn of our dreams.
This is the first horse I have ever had in my own barn.
He has been with us since last May and I love him more every day. He is loving,
funny, sweet and willing, I could
go on and on but the reason I write is that I am finding
that I need to do more reasearch before my saddle and headstall purchases.

I currently ride in a Tucker Equitation Endurance saddle
and "horse size" headstall for hacking, but he has outgrown the headstall in
less than a year.

Any suggestions for where to purchase the following would be greatly
appreciated:
- a headstall for hacking
- the type of headstall and an English saddle suitable for showing
- types of bits for suitable for the Fjord palate

I look forward to hearing from you all, Thanks, Gayle

Hi Sheri, I had the same problem with my Arabian Mare 6 yrs ago, sorry to say
she passed on. They tried all the same things and she did not have EPM. She
had a tumor on her pituitary gland in her brain. CSU here in Colorado Neuro
did some blood tests and it happend so fast there was nothing they could
really do. How long has she had this and is there a Equine Med school like
CSU that can step in ? Hope this info helps and gives them something to go
on. Susan [EMAIL PROTECTED]

As noted in the Winter issue of the Fjord Herald (if you have received
yours yet that is) the NFHR BOD is looking for a new Logo. This was
discussed last year on the list here & I don't want to start that all over
again but... The article about the Logo search in the Herald says the
deadline for submissions of the art work is March 31, 05. As this date has
already passed & the Herald is just now getting to some people the BOD has
extended the deadline to June 30, 05.

So if you thought you were to late your not - start drawing away and send
them in.

The new designs may not be in the Summer issue as the article says they
will be due to this delay. The designs may be in the Fall issue or we
might send them out with the annual ballots for the BOD in the Fall. That
is still to be determined.

Mike
