2 Geldings for sale in Colorado 5 years old
This message is from: "Brian Blevins" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> This message is from Brian Blevins - [EMAIL PROTECTED] I hate to do this put I need to put my 2 Fjord geldings up for sale. They are half brothers born 5/4/01 and 5/15/01. Both have great personalities and are about 14.3. They have some training to drive. They are Bushwhacker's Honidew and Bushwhacker's Duke of Url. Sire for both A2Z Thorson with dams Boe's Kelda and Bushwackers Honi. Priced at $4,500 each and will make a deal to keep them together. Both horses are great with other horses, llamas, dogs and especially people. Very easy to halter and get - will come when called. I no longer have the time or means to continue their training. Please email me for more information. Brian
Fjord Herald
This message is from: "Kevin and Verna Mattinson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi Everyone, I think this is only my third posting in the four years that I've been on this List, as I usually enjoy just "listening" to everyone else. However, I got my Fjord Herald last night and just had to mention how good it is.again The pictures are great and the cover is especially beautiful. Hats off to the Editors. There are still a couple of articles that I haven't had a chance to read and I'm looking forward to some time this evening to sit and thoroughly enjoy it from cover to cover.I get my share of people who think that fjords are just "cute, little, chubby ponies" and it's so nice to have the Herald and the NFHR website to show people pictures of fjords doing so many wonderful things. There's been lots of changes since I first started with Fjords back in 1992. :-) Verna Mattinson Woodrow Fjord Farm, Nova Scotia, Canada www.woodrowfjords.com
Gelding for sale
This message is from: "Dave and Patti Walter" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Just thought I'd pass on another Fjord gelding that is forsale. 13 yr old Gelding named Banner. Was used as a lesson horse for a number of years, then bought by an older couple who trail rode with him. VERY solid on the trails, NOT a spooky horse at all. Good ground manners, good with other horses. 13.3hh Owners looking for a quick sale, priced at $3500.00 I have taken him out on the trails and rode him in my indoor. He would be kid safe, husband safe too! Sire is Per, Dam is Flip(Grabbson x Krista) Pictures on my website of him. Patti Jo Walter www.franciscreekfjords.com
Tables/etc at 25th
This message is from: Susan Cargill <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Katherine and everyone - the $500 tables are not very large - about 36" diameter with 4 or 5 chairs. The $500 covers both the Stallion Review and Evening of Dancing Fjords. We do have bleacher seats with equally good viewing on the other side of the arena. These seats are free to everyone. We are adding an extra set of bleachers for additional seating. If anyone has questions, please feel free to ask. Susan

what to do with a 2y/o
This message is from: "Jeanne Zuker" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Get some 10' posts and make squares out of them, you can get her to 'turn within the square--giving to pressure, both directions,' you can have her 'walk-thru,' lengthening and shortening her stride (works with both walking her or ground-driving), set them out in a row, start with them maybe 5-6' apart (make an isle) and walk her through, having her stay within the isle. I would make some games that keep her mind active and isn't the same thing all the time and will still teach her some lessons, keep it short and something different. With her being so young I would also work on some de-spooking, let her walk across the poly tarp they things, just work on her confidence, walk her down the road (if it is safe) and let her see mailboxes, hear road noise and cars, bikes, etc passing -- again only if it can be done safely. Take her for a walk (or ground-drive) on trails, take her in and out of the trailer, teach her 'your space' make up some games that teach but her keeps her thinking (because they can think up plenty to do on their own.) As for the bit, maybe something like a full-cheek snaffle just to get her used to 'that thing being in my mouth.' Again, start slow. Most people on here have a lot more experience then I do. Enjoy her and congratulations! Jeanne and Olaf MI
