Olivia Farm Update
This message is from: "Olivia Farm, Inc." <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hello From Olivia Farm, Thank goodness we are getting into fall around here - it is a nice temperature for working, which is what we have to do after a very busy summer. We attended both shows in the Pacific Northwest and had a great time at both. It was our daughter Ingrid's show debut in the lead-line class at Moses Lake and she had a blast - she has the princess wave down pat. We know we are in trouble. She also competed with me in the rescue race at Libby. We should have probably been DQ'd for having some assistance in the mounting (she is only 2 1/2), but they let us go and we brought back the blue ribbon time - very fun. The rescue race ended up being "the mother/daughter rescue" as three mothers, myself, Michele Noonan, and Carmen Frentress, all raced down to pick up their daughters. I love Libby for offering classes like that - everyone I talked to had such a fun time and there was definitely a class for everyone and every caliber of rider/driver. We were super busy at both shows - Dan showing hater and doing the photography at Moses Lake and both of us competing at Libby. A big thank you to Jeff and Lisa Pedersen for throwing me on Anvil's Rethel at the last minute (what a good boy!) and to Catherine Lassesen for offering Blamann to Dan for driving on Sunday (a very well behaved stallion!). I think Catherine wins the award for most people showing one horse. She can be proud of her boy that he took all these additional classes and various rider/drivers in stride. For anyone interested we have posted our show results and a few photos from the Moses Lake evaluation, show, and the Libby show on our recently updated web-site, http://www.oliviafarm.com. We have also made some changes and additions to our sales page. One of the new horses on the sales list is OFI Jenny (Anvil's Morgen x Anvil's Juli by Leidjo), a wonderful chunk of a filly. Jenny is the kind of filly that you feel could be the perfect addition to someones program but that you don't try to hard to sell, because you could see using her yourself. Her full siblings are very competitive driving horses and we can see Jenny doing well in any discipline - she has the substance even for draft work. We have also decided to reduce the price on the most talented horse on our sales list, Peppertree's Christian. Once again, we can see using Chris in our program, but feel that with someone more devoted to him and his training he could go so much further. Chris had an unfortunate start to his life and therefore did not get some of the early training he needed. He has come SO FAR, however, in his short time with us and his sweet nature and extreme talent amaze us on a regular basis. Every time I see him move, I hate the thought of selling him, but we just don't have the time to give him what he deserves at this point in his training. As a breeding stallion, Chris is phenomenal and produces beautiful babies with outstanding movement. We would love to send him out to someone who is looking to add more dressage-type movement into their program. On the other hand, if someone wanted Chris as a performance gelding, we would consider that option for the right person (price negotiable as a gelding). Please feel free to email us privately or give us a call if you have any questions about Jenny, Chris, or any of our horses. Filly finally
This message is from: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hello There! Today we are happy. Korlina (aka Bananas) (Kinnikinnick C-45 x Pera C-15) had her foal. Korlina is 23 years old and this morning's foal is number 17. Everyone is healthy and happy. She had her just as I came around to feed her this morning. Her water had already broken and she was down. Only the nose was out when I arrived. Her brothers and sisters (Two Rivers Sprit, Two Rivers Tajle, Two Rivers Korolv, Two Rivers Korik, Two Rivers Maia, Two Rivers Ekko, Two Rivers Tanita, Two Rivers Sy, Two Rivers Rikalina, Markmann, Nattmann, Oscena, Quinde, Regnblomst, Stormann, and Tryggmann.) all welcome her into this world and rejoice at another little sister. Her name will begin with an "U" to keep within the tradition of our farm. Korlina is a wonderful broodmare. Her breeder Anne Bronson Notnes should be very proud of this mare. Korlina has been used as a lesson horses, trail horse and broodmare. She has excelled in each of her jobs. At the Days Creek Evaluation, Korlina received a red in conformation at the age of 19 years old. Everyone here at Hestehaven is celebration on a long awaited foal. Korlina's original due date was APRIL 16th. Two months after her due date, we figured out she may have reabsorbed the first pregnancy and then was covered by the stallion again. but no one on the farm saw it.. Then I realized that when we went to Winona for the 25th Anniversary show that I placed all the pregnant mares out with Blaamann in order to have care taking easier for my father. Well. with this birth date. Korlina and Blaamann must have found each other in October of last year while Amy and I were in Winona. :-) (Too bad it is not our "w" year!) Enjoy the day. I sure will knowing we have our very healthy filly on the ground. FINALLY! RE: Eventing photos - Tinyurl.com
This message is from: "Karen Keith" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Kate and others with long urls: First, great pics! Love to see the fjords out there performing. But to make your pics more accessible (as well as any site with a long, unwieldy url), go to http://www.tinyurl.com . This site allows you to paste your long url and convert it to a short one (tiny url, get it?) that doesn't break up in your email. For instance, this photo has 118 characters in the url and is broken into two lines, http://useventing.com/resources/gallery/2007wellprideaec/Day_4_-_Cross_Countr y_Beginner_Novice/day4_xc_bnovice_098.jpg becomes this url http://tinyurl.com/2fcvx2, no longer broken and just one click away. The second photo, http://useventing.com/resources/gallery/2007wellprideaec/Day_4_-_Cross_Country _Beginner_Novice/day4_xc_bnovice_097.jpg becomes http://tinyurl.com/2ahf5d . Brilliant, yes? I really enjoy looking at all the photos and websites people suggest. I just like it to be easy. Also, for folks who include their website urls in your signature line, if you'll start it with http://www instead of just www. the website will be immediately clickable for the target audience with no need to cut and paste. The time saved at the computer can be time spent with your ponies! Cheers! Karen, Am in Eng, and missing my Fjords. _ Advertisement: Make shopping exciting. Maybe I'll read all my emails before coming up with a brilliant solution to one, only to find out that it has been well explained by someone else. :^O Cheers! Karen, Am in Eng This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Better yet, give some thought to condensing overly long URL's when sending them to others. That way, those who want to view your photos do not have to struggle with the awkward cut-n-paste issue. _ Advertisement: Justin Timberlake FutureSex/LoveShow.
