If any of you know of an older Fjord that would enjoy being pampered
and well cared for in exchange for the occasional ride around the
farm, please let me know.

Hello Lee, We have for sale a very nice 19 yr.old fjord gelding we've
owned since he was a colt.We used him for riding and hunting, then he
was used in a team for farm work and shows, parades, pulling etc. His
team mate developed a ringbone in his front hoove and had to be put
down. So we would like to find a good home for this fine fellow. He
still looks really good and frolikes around with the other horses.
He's quite, tall at about 15 hands. We are open to negoiateas for as
price as long as he'd get a good home. But I'm afraid that
transportation would be a problem as rising fuel cost has made long
hauls for horses quite expensive. If we can be of further assistance
please let us know.

Thanks, Larry Boe from Bo-Fjords

Thanks for your interesting inquiry, We do not have anything in a mare
that is over two years right now that is quiet and gentle, (bomb
proof) We do have a nice older gelding that I used in a team for
years, and also rode quite a bit,Had to put the mate down due to
ringbone in his front hoves, There is a breeder in ID, that has a
light grey almost white long two year old Filly that has been ridden
some, but as he says she need more hours, Says shes quiet and
friendly, Think he has Pics of her being ridden, You can call him at

and in a year. a sensible older Fjord mare that needs a good home and
would like to be a companion and go for a few rides a week and might even
be asked to pull a sleigh once in a while in the winter and a little cart
up into the mountains so we can take the house dog out for a picnic
unless teh bears continue to be an issue in which case we'll just stay in
the valley and trot down the old stage coach roads!

Memories with Ron Davis

Memories with Ron Davis
We at Bo-Fjords sold Ron Kit their very first fjord Vena and eventually
four more of her beautiful full sisters from Rorik Sandy plus other
bloodline fillys. Also Ron's buddy and famed devoted friend stallion Lee and
his faithful team-mate gelding Flick as their basis of their breeding
stock, and working horses. We had a wonderful friendly relationship with Ron,
for seven years we met at the Nordic Hostfest in Minot, North Dakota where Ron
Larry would give free wagon rides to Hostfest visitors and lynne had a
fjord information booth and Kit would fly in after school to help her in the
booth. After the wagon rides, those happy hours in the barn will be remembered
for a life time.
Ron Kit provided two greys so we could make up the world's only grey six
horse hitch. When Ron asked Larry to drive their four horse hitch at the Blue
Earth Fjord show, it was a honor as the competition was stiff with Kit riding
shotgun we drove it to a first place finish, Ron was so elated that when the
placings were announced he let out a war-hoop and picked Lynne up off her feet
and whirled her around in the air, he generally didn't show that much
emotion.
We could go on on with happy memories that we harbour in our hearts. When
Kit phoned of the bad news, we both cried and cried being both crushed and
devastated. We know he will be watching over us all -
God Bless you Ron and Our Thoughts and Prayers to Kit.
Larry Lynne from Bo-Fjords
