This message is from: "Carol Tacey" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> We travel and camp with our LQ trailer and 2 Fjords all summer. I use a portable electric fence. Works great if you double string it. Two lines keeps the horses from ducking under. The best plastic poles are the "sturip step in", they go up easy and fast. 4 foot poles the best. I use a charger that runs on 4 "D" size batters, does the job and is light weight. I bought a extra big (golf club size) canvas bag with a zipper that holds the whole set up, poles, charger, wire (on a hand crank roller). Then of course, I let my husband, Tony, set it all up. Two adults setting up a portable fence is like a married couple in a canoe for 3 days . The fight is on! So, I sit in the lawn chair and tell Tony, "Your doing a great job". Time to submit photos for the 2008 Fjord Calendar

The photos are collected from Fjord farms all over US, Canada, and Europe. You could have your Fjord and Farm featured in the 2008 calendar. Photo releases go out in January 2007 and final photos selected in March 2007. How to send photos: Send your photo to address below, I will scan it am mail it back to you. Send jpeg file to my e mail with contact information. Send jpeg CD to the address below with contact information. Photos must be 600 DPI and at least 5 x 7 inches (larger is better). Large jpeg files need to be mailed on a CD because large files do not travel well via e mail. I am always happy to see so many wonderful Fjord photos, however only 13 can be used. If your photo is not used this year, it will be held for consideration in future years. I get many great photos that I cannot use because the resolution is poor. In order to enlarge a photo to 11 x 14 inches it must have high resolution, that is 600 DPI or larger. If you download you photos from your digital camera do not reduce the size, it is best to send the larger version of your image on a CD and I will make the size adjustment. Equine Affaire in Springfield MA
This message is from: "Carol Tacey" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi Fjord Friends, The 7th annual Equine Affaire to be held November 11 to 14th, is in W. Springfield, MA at the Eastern States Exposition. More than 90,000 horse enthusiasts are expected to attend from throughout the United States. In store at this year's Equine Affaire will be four days of seminars and demonstrations on horse related topics, more that 60 training clinics, equine trade show, and hundreds of horses of all breeds and disciplines. The Northeast Fjord Horse Association is working very hard on the Equine Affaire and we are ready to roll. I hope you all will visit the NFHA's breed booth with stall, and also the NFHA Fjord horses in "Farm Barn". The booth has a whole new look, you will be proud of. New drapes, table covers, rug, poster size prints of Fjords, television and VHS. The club has worked very hard on this upgraded look, we are trying for simple and clean. The Fjord breed demo is 3pm on Saturday, we hope you will be there. Also, following the breed demo at 3:30 (in the same ring) Tony DiMuccio with his Fjord mare will be in a training session with Richard Shrake. Stay and cheer Tony on, too. A driving presentation planned for Fantasia will include two members of the NFHA this year. The segment will have horses of all breeds driving in formation. The theme and costumes are a secret right now, but much sewing and cart decoration is going on. Watch for Karol Cota from Killingworth CT with her Fjord team Hannah and Sven and Carol Tacey driving her Fjord mare Flikka.
