Marsha Jo,
I hope you don't mean you're dumping those black walnuts in the REAL DUMP but
just dumping into something else to sell or give away. Aren't they the good
ones to eat?Cheryl G. Beck

of it has a second career before getting there. I use baling twine in
the garden for my green beans to climb, to support young tomato starts within
their cages, to restrain the asperagus ferns within their fences, etc. Of
course, it gets used in all manner of places around the ranch, to temporarily
patch this, close that, and hold the other up, down, in, out, etc. Baling
twine, plus a good pocket knife, can also qualify as the minimalist spares
kit for carriage driving. ;-) Grain sacks (well, alfalfa pellets, as my
fat Fjords and donkey don't get any grain) are actually in short supply
around here. I had to beg some from a neighbor, for my next
project---cleaning up under our black walnut tree. The woven plastic sacks
are strong enough, but not too big---when filled with walnuts, they're still
movable from ground to pickup to dump. And, of course, they get tied closed
with baling twine However, talk to your local recycling center. Ours
recently said they'd take any kind of plastic, but I haven't checked to see
if that includes twine and bags. Marsha Jo Hannah Murphy must have been a

Lisa,
It has been a Godsend to have you reporting the fire news of SoCal to all of
us. I'm an EX-California native. I still pray for all people, animals and
structures whenever there are Santa Ana/santana winds. You've really helped
me more than the news. I was born and raised in So. Calif. and used to live
in Irvine for 17 years and my EX and I owned a bicycle shop in Laguna Beach.
Thanks for sharing Jeff's first-hand information.
May God bless OPIE and all the other courageous firefighters volunteers!

Batallion Chief with the Orange City FD, and Jeff had worked in the County
warehouse, suppling fire crews with gear ect. since he was 16. So, here
comes this big, blond, freckle faced 6'4, 140 lb. kid into the Firestation
carrying all his gear, grining ear to ear. The CHIEF happend to be sitting
there that day, took a look and announced to everyone.. boys.meet
OPIE ! and it stuck. For years, even the back of his helmet had OPIE
written on it. There are guys who think that it is his name. Whistleing the
MayberryRFD song is not uncomman when I call for Jeff. He is pumping
water into Helicoptors right now. It is a hot, noisy job. Im happy with
this position. Let some of the fresh crews arriving from out of state go out
on the lines for now. Lisa ps got an e-mail from Lisa Lucidi today. Shes
in San Diego Co. and had evacuated 80 horses ( including her Fjord, Tyra 1 )

My Fjord Amie's tail brushes out really nice. I use a pin brush like mine.
Don't use Cowboy Magic Detangler on any Yorkies! Mine turned into a fluffball
with more tangles than when I started. I normally use Mane Tail detangler
on her but mine was in travel trailer and froze. Gotta get more for the dog.
Fjord tail doing fine.

Did I see someone mention a BLACK Fjord? I'm recently the owner of my first

often?

Hope someone can answer my question. I'm a newbie.
