Re: Gnats
This message is from: jern...@mosquitonet.com Now here is something a friend sent me to control mosquitoes, and possibly gnats. It's worth a try! Quote** I was at a deck party awhile back, and the bugs were having a ball biting everyone. A man at the party sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine, and the little demons disappeared. The next year I filled a 4-ounce spray bottle and used it around my seat whenever I saw mosquitoes.. And voila! That worked as well.. It worked at a picnic where we sprayed the area around the food table, the children's swing area, and the standing water nearby. During the summer, I don't leave home without it.Pass it on. OUR FRIEND'S COMMENTS: I tried this on my deck and around all of my doors. It works - in fact, it killed them instantly. I bought my bottle from Target and it cost me $1.89. It really doesn't take much, and it is a big bottle, too; so it is not as expensive to use as the can of Bug-spray you buy that doesn't last 30 minutes. So, try this, please. It will last a couple of days. Don't spray directly on a wood door (like your front door), but spray around the frame. Spray around the window frames, and even inside the dog house. ** I haven't tried this myself but I will: sure is worth a try, anyway! This message is from: Jen Frame Sherri, vitamin B1 eaten by humans and horses helpsvtremendously in keeping all blood sucking insects away including gnats. I eat a B1 pill twice a day & I feed my horses the highest safe dose (650 mg) everyday in gnat season and see spectacular results. It dramatically reduces the amount of topical toxins I need to put on me and the horses Jen Sent from my iPhone On May 22, 2009, at 1:45 PM, Linda Lottie wrote: This message is from: Linda Lottie Sheri..the Cashel company makes a "fly mask" for people. Gnats
This message is from: "Ron & Sherrie Dayton" Hi all, I have a question for those of you that have to deal with clouds of Gnats. I have flymasks with the ears covered on the horses so they are not being eaten alive but what do you do to prevent the gnats from descending on people so you can work your horses.I'm really frustrated, we've had a long nasty winter and a wet miserable spring here in the Northwest and now the weather is better we have to deal with all the gnats. Is there a spray that will keep them away from me as well as the horses? Any help or info is appreciated. Gnasty Gnats
This message is from: "Nancy Blauers" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi Everyone! I was wondering if anyone has a suggestions that can help my Fjord, Theo. The gnats here in central Florida love him. Absolutely LOVE him. They seem to focus on his legs, particularly his back legs, from the hocks down. I fly spray every morning & evening with TriTec 14 and also apply swat on the really chewed up areas but these little pests are unrelenting. Has anyone else had an issue like this? My quarter horse is untouched, I guess he doesn't taste as good as little Fjords. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Many Thanks! Re: mosquitos and gnats
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi Listers; It does seem funny to think of mosquitos in Alaska but we are darn cold here in Minnesota and we refer to them as the state bird also. Tough buggars!!! I find with my fjords that the gnats are far more bothersome than mosquitos. Poor Sven has lots of "folds" under his arm pits and the gnats burrow inside to suck blood and leave bloody scabs. Same under his belly near his sheath and inside his back legs. Of course, they love his ears too. I always hated windy summer days until I got horses - now I welcome them as I know the bugs won't be so bad. Suffering from the never ending cold/flu bug my trip to Waverly has to be canceled ...I am a "crabby camper" !!! Will enjoy reading about the happenings at the auction. Have a good time those of you who are attending!! Linda in MN
