The National Drive
This message is from: "lindy" Dear Fjellow Fjordies Bruce, Laurel and I are taking Dagney to the National Drive this October: our first (hopefully not the only) trip there! Looking for someone who would like to share a tack stall for the week. If you are going and want to share, please get in touch with the organizers and let them know you want to share with Lindy Hild. I put down on my registration that I wanted to share a tack stall if possible. Gotta save a few bucks for carrots, y'know. Hope this works out for somebody, we Fjordistas need to make a presence! Lindy and Dagney in the Shenandoah Valley, looking forward gleefully to the Virginia Fjord Evaluation and the Fjord Fjestival Horse Show later this week at Herndon! National Drive 2008
This message is from: "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hey Everyone!! So last weekend I made the treck up to the Kentucky Horse Park for the National Drive and met up with the Sadlon crew for one AWESOME weekend!! So after the memorable experience of getting the horse trailer into the right spot in the campground (hehehe) we settled in for the night and started up the next morning driving all around. Susie & Mike had their amazing team of greys (Jerry & Sterlyn) and I had the wonderful opportunity to take the reins and go exploring. We drove up and down and all around the park, driving past HUGE jumps, CDE courses, tons of construction for the world games, and encountered tons and tons and tons of other horses driving around. There were only a handful of fjords there and we definitely stood out amongst the minis and haflingers and good ol' quarter horses and so forth!! Along with myself and Mike and Susie and Jerry and Sterlyn we were accompanied by their granddaughter Nichole and Roger and Tammy Barnhart and the ever-so-comfortable big fluffy dog named Storm (Newfoundland :D) So I had an absolutely WONDERFUL time exploring the far corners of the park, cooking EVERYTHING over a campfire, seeing my first Polo Match (!) and just simply sitting and talking. I would just like to thank Mike & Susie for letting me stay with them (THANK YOU) and for all of you people who like to drive you should DEFINITELY consider coming next year!! Hope to see you then!! National Drive
This message is from: "mom" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> In response to the post below, as of this date, there will be at least three fjords at the National Drive--MVF Venn (my pony) and Curt Pierce and Marsha Korose' pair, LLF Ulend and HOG Solvar. Will be with a friend who drives a mule, so we will surely stand out! I know Olaf Nyby was there last year and imagine he will be there again this year. I am SO looking forward to it! Sue Freivald I was just wondering if anyone from the list has gone to or is planning on going to the National Drive at the Kentucky Horse Park? It sounds like great fun to be able to drive all over the Park, participate in the clinics (I hear they have a dressage and cones ring set up) and socialize with other driving people. It's so early in the year that I don't know for sure if I'll be able to go (or if either of the 2 possible driving horses - Fjord or Friesian - will be ready!) My Friesian mare might have to go evaluations this fall and of course, that isn't scheduled yet, but I did see on the website that you can make reservations, and if you cancel 90 days before you get 100% refund. Re: National Drive
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi Tiffany! I'm planning to go to the National Drive at the Horse Park in October and I'm really excited about it. I'm not sure how to sign up for stalls though...do you know with whom we should speak on that subject? On which website did you see the reservation info? I'm hoping to take both my Fjords (and my brother too - it'll be a really different kind of weekend for him!). I've never been to the park but everyone says it's beautiful, that the Museum of the Horse is not to be missed and that the seminars and workshops are great! I hope we can both get it arranged. If you bring your Fjord, maybe we can stage pony races to the carrot bar! Kay Van Natta @ Yellow Pony Farm in SE MI and Braveheart, who says, "Oh boy! New trails!" and Bogie, who says,"Trailer ride? Why? I like the old trails." The FjordHorse List archives can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/rcepw

This message is from: Tiffany Amschl <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> You guys are great! I post an introductory message and I've already gotten 3 notes back. What a great group!
