The model "Leo" was never recalled...it was simply referred to by collectors as an "oops" that left the factory... About 200... These models were originally sold without any markings so that the new owners could paint on markings and submit them to a special registry as "sons" or "daughters" of Leo. The collectors thought that the solid Leos looked like the solid Wimpys from the previous year and so markings were then added by Breyer. It is conceivable that Breyer could darken the legs/hooves, but since the Silver Wolfe models have already gone into production, there already are several hundred models with the pink hooves > >I am afraid that the "henry" mold will be the mold until they come out with > >a stallion or mare. Since it took so long to get _A_ fjord in the Breyer line, it will be MANY more before any new fjords get added However, Breyer has gotten many of the model horse hobby people involved with sculpting models for the line. Some examples of these new sculptures by the hobby's finest are a zebra, standardbred (Hambletonian), miniature horse, and Zippo Pine Bar... Jen > Jennifer E. Pamela ... I agree with you. The grullo's I have seen are very different than the Fjord's grey dun. The red dun of the Quarter Horse is different also. However, the same dun colors complete with the two-color mane of the Fjord Horse can be found in the Mustang/Sorroyo(sp.?)/Spanish Horses in both brown dun and grey dun. Maybe these colors can be found in Quarter horses who have wild Mustang in their pedigrees. >>><<< Meredith Sessoms >>><<< Soddy-Daisy. Tennessee. I thought I was alone with my thoughts of what a grullo is. And a red dun QH IS extremely different than the fjord, isn't it? We've got our palomino mare, and for a while I was looking for a buckskin mare. Not just any buckskin, but one with conformation, training, etc. And I just couldn't find one for love nor money. Everyone had red duns to offer. And they were nice, but not what I wanted. To me, the QH red dun is sort of ugly. When I heard about fjord red duns I had no interest in them. Till I saw them. So different from the QH red dun, and so beautiful. Pamela

It's one of the few places that talks about a rabicano roan. 2 years ago our palomino mare gave birth to a beautiful baby. who had the funniest marks. A raccoon striped tail, and white belly. Now she's developed a couple quarter size spots on her chest. The man who bought her is going to see if he can have her accepted by the Paint registry. Amazing all the different variations. This message is from: Jean Ernest <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> There are many shades of Grey duns or grullos in other breeds and a lot are darker than the shades in the Fjords. Same goes for ALL the dun colors, many darker shades in the quarterhorse and other breeds while the Fjords mostly have a very light shade of Dun. Some shade of dun in these other breeds are so dark that I would have called them brown or something else befroe I read Sponenberg's work. Sponenberg's books and photos are very informative and interesting.
