This message is from: "Douglas Knutsen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi all - I just posted 2 new pictures of our little baby stallion, Soren, on the NFHR pedigree page. He is seeking the just-right happy home to go to when he is old enough to leave mama Sadie. [I think mama is ready now - her forelock and tail are looking more ragged by the minute...] I am looking forward to my upcoming visit with Brigid W. It's always a treat to put a face to someone's wise words. Wish Dagrun could join us. At least my splint will be off by then. Bye now, Peg Peg Knutsen www.elltel.net/kffjord/
New pictures - soon!
This message is from: "Knutsen Fjord Farm" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi everyone - Heidi Murphy from Australia just emailed us the first photos of Erlend's frozen semen Aussie colt, Yahzuo. No, I don't know what the name means. At one day old, he looks a little like he's standing on stilts. Leggy little bugger! Erlend liked the pictures a lot and would have lighted up a cigar if he had had thumbs. And a match. [Of course, like all other stallions, he is convinced that he has no match...] Since we are still in the throes of moving in, it may be a while 'till we get the pictures up on the web site. If you just can't wait to see them, email me privately and I'll forward them to you. We are temporarily without DSL service, so they take an eternity to send, but that's OK. We have a few inches of melting, sloppy, snow at the moment, and the four-foots, especially the goat, want to know what is holding up the barn building. [A final permit.] They will love the interlocking mats we are getting, though, so perhaps they will eventually stop sulking and forgive us. I'm off now to pick up our tree, since we have cleared enough boxes to have a space for it. Happy Holidays - Peg Peg Knutsen - Ellensburg, WA http://www.eburg.com/~kffjord/

This message is from: "Knutsen Fjord Farm" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi all ~ Doug put up some new pictures on our web site for your viewing enjoyment. There is a nice sillouette of Erlend in which he reminds me of the stlyized wooden horses we buy in Norway. Also one of Vilde on the herd page, and Ulend and Lady Liberty on the Erlend Kids page. Hope you enjoy them. Next up will be Vilde's parents in Norway, Mildre and Takklar. Suki must be almost at her new home by now. I really miss her, but, after seeing how Janice Lee takes care of her four-foots, I don't think Suki will miss us much. Interesting, and poignantly, Suki's just-arrived mom, Kariella, carried on something fierce as Suki was loaded. I was wondering whether she remembered her daughter after all this time. They had had less than 24 hours to chat across a double fence. What do you all think? I know Erlend certainly acted as if her remembered Kari, but I suspect that's different. Men! Sadie looks a little forlorn without Suki to boss around. We'll move Silka in there tomorrow, and they can get re-acquainted.Wish one of these gals would show some heat so it would be easier to get His Majesty's breeding soundness exam completed. So does he... Just saw "A Beautiful Mind" and am still recovering. Amazing experience! Bye, now ~ Peg Peg Knutsen - Ellensburg, WA http://www.eburg.com/~kffjord/

new pictures, congratulations, brag alert.
This message is from: "Knutsen Fjord Farm" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi all - Doug posted some new pictures on our web site last night. They are on the Erlend, Erlend Kids, Herd, FOR Sale, and Farm pages. Please let us know if we are getting too many pictures up and they are taking too long to load. We can rotate the old ones off. Doug goes in for his fusion tomorrow, so send any good thoughts you can spare our way, please. We are expecting everything to go fine, but it is a daunting experience. He hopes to be pain free afterward, though it would be more reassuring if the literature said something better than - "...this surgery may help..." We want to congratulate the owners of OH Hannah [Brian Jacobsen?], and WSF Lady Liberty [J. Bonner], who received "1" premies in the Van Bon Evaluation, as well as the owners of OH Tira [Phil and Deborah Juran], and OH Troya [J Bonner], who got "As". These are all Erlend progeny. Erlend is very proud of them and would LOVE to see pictures of them! Mr. Van Bon remarked that he hadn't seen Erlend, but that he must be a good stallion to have produced these offspring. [blush, blush] Bye for now - Peg Knutsen http://www.eburg.com/~kffjord/

Also, Doug is in the process of posting new pictures and content on our web site. Look for them at http://www.eburg.com/~kffjord/ Silly Willie filly will be ready to wean in another month, and will be available to the right home. This message is from: "Jean Gayle" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Lynn, my fjord is in with my 17.2 1/2 hand Trakehner and my 16 plus hand Holsteiner. No problems unless they are all three together then the big gelding resents him around the mare. Usually, if he wants to, Gunnar can out maneuver the gelding. Gunnar pesters the gelding even tho he gets a few good bites for it. Big stalls are no problem except for looking out of if the footing is low. This message is from: "Mark and Lisa K. McGinley" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hello Lyn I am glad you got to see my web site. It has only been around for a few weeks and I'm still working out the submission process for various search engines. Alida was bred this spring to Rokida's Niklaus (Grey Dun) and should foal at the end of April 2000. Alida is a brown dun which is the most common color for Fjords while her filly from '97 (Asa) is a red dun. Odds are that her foal will be another brown dun but we won't know until it's born. Her foal would be in the price range of $3,000-4,000 (at weaning) depending on how it turns out and what sex it is. There is a lot of potential with such a good cross. I'm not sure if you saw that Niklaus won not only his class at the Blue Earth but he also won Grand Stallion! We were really happy to be one of the few breedings by him this year. Unfortunately he was sold to a breeding farm in Green Bay and that will be all he'll do from now on it seems. Our stalls in our barn are 14 X 10 and the Fjords do fine in them. That is when they are in them. They would rather be outside. We put them in when there is a real cold rain or if it's going to be real cold. Otherwise they are outside. One of our horses is a 15-1 hh Arab mare and they all fit together fine (Both Alida 14-2 hh and Asa 14-0 hh aren't that small). Good luck with your search for your daughter's horse. My daughter is 12 and she has the Arab. Alida is my wife's and Asa is mine. I'm the one who gets to wait to ride for three years! I'm half way there.
