[Flexradio] Flex 5000 How can i set the class A or AB for the PA?
Hi all, How can i set the class A or AB for the PA? The new power amp also has the ability to be variably biased for class A or AB operation for use with external linear power amplifiers. I find not the adjustment to variably biased for the PA? I need feedback.please. 73 Franz -- next part -- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... [Flexradio] audio signal path
May be,I did not read the manual carefully... I understood, that the AF audio output is genrated in the computer by PowerSDR and the program uses the mic input signal. Looking to the mixer I find the Flex5k audio I/Os only, but not the Laptop I/Os, as I exspected. I can connect the Flex5k I/O to the laptop, but is this deviation necessary to use the the lapop mic and speaker? There is a direct way using VAC with the DIGx modes, but how does it work with LSB USB... ? Hope, there is a simple solution. Re: [Flexradio] Advice with Laptop
The two considerations I would have are: 1. what resolution can the laptop show (how big is the screen)? 2. how much memory does it steal from the cpu? The resolution is important to me because it dictates how much display I can get on the panadapter. If you are running 192k (for instance) and want to see a lot of it in anything other than 0.5x mode, you need some visual landscape. The memory thing is obvious, if you have a GB of memory but the video card needs 512M, then you lost half of your memory. I would bet you are okay with the config, but the two questions above are some I would want to know before going that route! SVN 1602 not working here with VAC. I wonder what the difference is in your configuration to have it working there. SVN 1586, VAC does operate, stopped at 1587. Using SDR-1000 with Janus/Ozy here, and VAC 4.08. Have tried various settings within VAC control panel. Both lines do show active, but no audio is passed to MixW, or other programs.Seems to be working for some folks though. Just a clarification. As far as I can see, VAC does not send any audio via virtual audio cables to WinWarbler, MMTTY or Mixw The VAC box in Mode Specific Controls that appears if you have selected a DIGx mode is Yellow as if it's enabled. But somewhere the audio is not getting to any of MY digital decoder/encoder software listed above. Re: [Flexradio] Advice with Laptop
Ruben, I am using a Sony Lap top, VAIO model VGN-FS760, going on 3 years old. The CPU is a Pentium M processor running at 1.862 MHz, and I have 1.5 GB RAM. I don't know what a Pentium M is, but it is not one with dual CPUs. I think it is the lap top version of the Premium 4. I have a SDR-1000 with a FireWire Sound card, and it runs the same software as the Flex-5000. The CPU is running at 20%. No problems on the display. In fact, I am running dual displays, both at 1024 X 764 resolution with 32 bit color, which is fine for the PowerSDR. The version I am running is Beta v1.10.3 SVN 1602. The display chips are the NVIDA Ge Force Go 6400 which are fine for ordinary work, but not fast enough for some of the video games. I would not be concerned about the display at all. When I added 1 GHz ram to the 500K the computer came with, the CPU percentage went down from about 36% to 20%. So the 2 GHz you have is more than adequate. 73, Chas W1CG At 05:01 PM 9/22/2007, Ruben Navarro Huedo wrote: Thank's Neal for your answer. The laptop has 2gb of RAM. If I revert to a svn BELOW 1602, then the above software works normally. ___ FlexRadio mailing list FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archive Link: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ FlexRadio Knowledge Base: http://kb.flex-radio.com/ FlexRadio Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/
Re: [Flexradio] VAC quit above svn 1587 I have 1602 VAC working now
-Original Message- That was it! I changed from VAC as the default system sound card and it now operates. Changed the system sound card default to another card system on my pc, and suddenly there is the waterfall from VAC. This will work fine for Mix and DM790 and most other pgms, won't work for WSJT program though. WJST does not have a way to choose the VAC cables over the system default.WSJT goes with the default. Oh well, this will be fine for now. Otherwise, VAC Control Panel is set up as described in the Knowledge Base article. 73, Ray, K9DUR ___ FlexRadio mailing list FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archive Link: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ FlexRadio Knowledge Base: http://kb.flex-radio.com/ FlexRadio Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/
Re: [Flexradio] audio signal path
Guenter, When VAC is enabled, the mic input is disconnected for the virtual in/out of VAC, so there is no need to worry about the laptop's mic or audio output. To monitor the transmitted audio signal, turn on the Monitor and listen through your normal speakers or headset. Vcom will take care of the transmit control and CAT commands. For example with MixW, OsinTnx Osin or Hamscope. Hope this helps. 73, Dudley WA5QPZ FlexRadio Systems (512) 250-8595 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Web: http://www.flex-radio.com/www.flex-radio.com At 03:29 PM 9/22/2007, guenter wrote: May be,I did not read the manual carefully... I can connect the Flex5k I/O to the laptop, but is this deviation necessary to use the the lapop mic and speaker? There is a direct way using VAC with the DIGx modes, but how does it work with LSB USB... ? Hope, there is a simple solution. Would a direct I/O reduce latancy and /or system load? 73 Guenter ___ FlexRadio mailing list FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archive Link: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ FlexRadio Knowledge Base: http://kb.flex-radio.com/ FlexRadio Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/ -- next part -- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
