Re: [Flexradio] OK now PSK31 weirdness
Drax, Best not to get into the calibration menus unless you know what you are doing and really need to. Check your audio and AGC-T gain levels, they both have an effect on the audio level going to VAC. You usually do not need to run the AGC-T gain past 70 or 80 . 73, Dudley WA5QPZ Drax Felton wrote: Where is the calibration? Re: [Flexradio] Power Master Software Question
Frank, Make sure you have the driver for the USB to serial adapter installed.. Then you will need to determine the actual Com port that is being assigned for the USB adapter. This is what needs to go in the Com port setting of PowerMaster SW. 73, Dudley WA5QPZ Frank J. Triche wrote: I am trying to get my power master Meter software to work with my Flex 5000A.. [Flexradio] really OT was Re: (no subject)
15 years ago I bought a shiny new FT1000D and it was my pride and joy, but after a while it would not output any signal when I was on rtty (which is 99.99% of the time) so I called Yaesu and sent it back for repair. They got it and it had been damaged in shipment so they fixed it, recalibrated it and sent it back. I was very happy I could not tell what had been broken and delighted with my new rig. My wife suggested I move my shack from one part of the house to another and when I relocated, voila, the problem returned. Nothing I did would resolve it, so back to the Yaesu factory. Checked out 100% with no problems so they sent it back. I hooked it back up and voila, it worked! Then we had to move to Belgium and when my rig arrived and I hooked it up, the problem returned so I figured it was intermittant and the shipment must have caused it to return. My shack in Belgium had a big enough room I was able to have 3 feet between my desk and the wall so I walked behind the desk to disconnect it to send it for repair and noticed I had plugged the data cable into the remote jack right next to it. Every time I had connected my rig up, I never did it from the rear but just probed the rear connections with the data cable and whenever it fit, I assumed it was correct. They made the radio so the data cable could fit in the remote jack and I had been plugging it in there all these times. The times it worked, I had found the right socked by accident. I called Yaesu to apologize. Re: [Flexradio] OK now PSK31 weirdness
I did this procedure. The audio is 33% to 46% at -6 RX Gain. I can still see some signals at -40 though. -Original Message- Can you do a quick test. In the Setup form, do a database reset to make a copy of what you have and clear out the DB. The fire up PowerSDR and change only the minimum settings for the audio (do 96 KHz @ 1024 buffers - make sure the Firewire is set the same), set VAC up just like the screen shot and set CAT if you need it. Then see if the problem exists. -40 dB on the RX audio should produce NOTHING that would show up as signal in DM-780. ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/

Re: [Flexradio] OK now PSK31 weirdness
Something is wrong when -40 produces enough audio for overload. Could you give us a screenshot of PowerSDR? In your PSDR setup, you don't need to check enable VAC AND enable VAC for digital modes. The first checkbox leaves VAC on all the time while the second checkbox turns it on only when you do DIGI-L or DIGI-U. 73 Neal Campbell Abroham Neal Software www.abrohamnealsoftware.com (540) 645 5394 NEW PHONE NUMBER Amateur Radio: K3NC Blog: http://www.abrohamnealsoftware.com/blog/ DXBase bug reports: email to ca...@dxbase.fogbugz.com Abroham Neal forums: http:/www.abrohamnealsoftware.com/community/ On Sat, Mar 27, 2010 at 8:35 PM, Drax Felton wrote: > Yup, Lexington, NC is my QTH. If it works I guess I wouldn't touch it but you might consider getting a higher quality cable. There are cheap ones and expensive ones but if you get one from a quality manufacturer you get what you pay for. OK. VAC 4.09 is not signed and it will have to be run in test mode. VSPManager is signed and works fine on my Win7 x64 machine without test mode and a few hundred others can attest that it is doing the same on their PCs. Did you by chance install VSP Manager while in test signing mode? Try uninstalling VSPManager, rebooting in normal mode and installing it using administrator rights (run as administrator). Then test in normal mode. Once working, then go back to test mode for VAC to work properly. -Tim -Original Message- From: flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz [mailto:flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz] On Behalf Of Drax Felton Sent: Saturday, March 27, 2010 4:04 PM To: flexradio@flex-radio.biz Subject: Re: [Flexradio] Failed to load resources from resource file I see in the release notes for VAC v4.10 the author wrote: "Added Authenticode digital signature from NTONYX" Which is one of his distributors that he's using the name of to get around the Microsoft single developer rules. Re: [Flexradio] Failed to load resources from resource file
VAC is not signed so you should expect that for 64bit systems. VSP should work though. It might be a different issue, try running it in Windows XP compatibility mode and see if it will work. I haven't seen any issues with VSPMgr on 64 bit systems myself. 73 Neal Campbell Abroham Neal Software www.abrohamnealsoftware.com (540) 645 5394 NEW PHONE NUMBER Amateur Radio: K3NC Blog: http://www.abrohamnealsoftware.com/blog/ DXBase bug reports: email to ca...@dxbase.fogbugz.com Abroham Neal forums: http:/www.abrohamnealsoftware.com/community/ On Sat, Mar 27, 2010 at 3:43 PM, Drax Felton wrote: > Whenever I boot with UAC ON and TESTSIGNING off I lose both VSP and VAC. > Both versions of them are supposed to be 64 bit signed. [Flexradio] Weirdness below AM broadcast band
Last night I tuned the Flex 5000A below the AM broadcast band in the vicinity of 400 to 500 kHz and I heard a lot of CW activity like I was listening to a ham band. I know the Flex isn't really designed to listen down there. So what was going on? Re: [Flexradio] Failed to load resources from resource file
Hi Drax There are two suggestions for you: 1. Ham Radio Deluxe polls a radio for oodles of information, and does it several times per second. You can slow this down in HRD Options to once per second, but I find even this is too much for PowerSDR. There is free software available in N3ZH_Software which controls many things - tuners, radios, coax switch, RS232 relay box, etc.. One of the nice features is that this software does NOT poll a radio nearly as much as HRD, and it also supports HRD's Logbook and DM780 interfaces, so these two HRD programs can know the frequency, mode, etc.. Dozens of flex users are using this software as a sort of "HRD-Lite" - though the author did not intend it to fill such a purpose. When you use this software, enable the "Allow Kenwood AI command" in PowerSDR's CAT control interface tab. 2. Item number one above helps alot, but I kept occasionally getting the "Failed to load resources from resource file" error. I updated the firmware and PowerSDR to pretty betty SVN:3537, and never had another one of these errors ever again. It seems to be stable - all the functions that I use seem to work fine. It works so well that I suspect they are not working on the bread and butter features, but probably just adding support for the new 1500 and v/u modules? Nevertheless this is Alpha software and may have undesirable bugs. Hope this helps you.
