I believe it is a little more basic than that. I tried FLDigi and MMVari
and they all show the same symptom when coping PSK31.

[Flexradio] Using Digital Master 780 with Flex 5000a

2014-03-10 Thread Keith Watson
Just when I think I got everything worked out, I figure out that I don't.
Tried to run some PSK31 for the first time this evening using DM780.
However, I realize that it is not decoding worth a darn. Very strong
signals that should print 100 percent are only printing about 20 percent if
that. I figured I had the sample rate set wrong for this program in PSDR,
but any change to it does not seem to make much of a difference or make it
worse. I figure I am doing something dumb, but I have not figured out that
it is yet. Thanks.

Re: [Flexradio] Ready to quit

2014-03-10 Thread Robert Logan
Bill, I use the 1500 bare for everything, including contesting. No nothing on
it. Don't need anything else

My daughter is a ham (38 years old and a professor at Rice University) and she
can 't stand a radio with knobs. Too many things to adjust, she says, and
proceeds to manipulate complex menus not even thinking about it It doesn't 't
faze her a bit.

I have many vintage radios with lots of knobs because they had a special
meaning for me at one time and they are pretty and unique to show. But for
operating, no.

People look at the Globe Scout 680 and 755 VFO (matching!) and Hallicrafters
SX-99 and the Johnson Matchbox and say, you actually used that . Yep, and
learned a heckuva lot of radio doing that. But thank goodness we've come along
a long ways in 50 years. Just my opinion. Bob, NZ5A

Bill, check with Dudley Hurry at Flex. Forget Internet instructions. Dudley
is incredibly helpful.

If you chuck the Flex, you'll be missing out on the best radio there is. And I
don't even have the top of the line---just the 1500 and it is fantastic.

Lots of people have them working. You can too, and it's well worth any effort
it takes. IMHO. Bob, NZ5A

Welcome to my world. Don't give up, you can do it. It's only Software,
It's only 0s and 1s, 1s are easy and 0s are nothing, Not much help, I
know. I don't have a DJ controller or a Flex controller, so I can't
really provide the answer you seek, So I provide encouragement instead.
Perhaps a change into fresh "Big Boy Pants" is in order. Don't sell the
Flex. Why does not having a DJ controller tied to your Ham Radio end up
being a fail? It's not that it doesn't work, It just doesn't work YET.
Take a break, and then get back to work, err I mean get back to the

Mike:

Good morning. Let's try 2 things to see if we can get you going:

RESET YOUR DATABASE:
1. Power up radio
2. Start PowerSDR
3. Go to /SETUP/GENERAL
4. In the lower left, hit the FACTORY DEFAULTS button.
5. This will close the program.
6. Restart PowerSDR and see if that works.

MANUALLY RE-INSTALL the USB Driver
1. Power OFF the FLEX-1500
2. Go to C:\Program Files\FlexRadio Systems\PowerSDR v2.7.2 \1500 Driver64
3. Find the file "uninstall.bat" Right Click on the file and then click
RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
4. When it's finished... Reboot the PC
5. After rebooted ... Go to C:\Program Files\FlexRadio Systems\PowerSDR
v2.7.2 \1500 Driver64
6. Find the file "wd_install.bat" Right Click on the file and then click
RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
7. When it's finished... Reboot the PC
8. Power up the radio and let it finish the installation.
9. Start PowerSDR and see what's up.

fast. I would suggest for HELP questions in the future, submit a ticket to
http://helpdesk.flexradio.com . We are actually converting all HELP inputs
from email, phone, community, etc. to tickets so we can respond efficiently
and not drop anything along the way.

Good luck. If the above doesn't work, I'd suggest getting SUPPORT formally
in the loop.

[Flexradio] Weird 1500 operation

2014-03-10 Thread Michael Walker
I'm out in the wilds of Alberta (ve6 land) with Ken va3sk.

We have a 1500 with us and it works on 1 computer and not the other.

So, on the failing one, we have no audio on the radio (but we do on VAC)
and no RF out.

I have tried to do a complete uninstall/reinstall, but no joy. Even a
database reset didn't help. This includes doing:

   - uninstall
   - delete the flex directory from program files
   - reboot
   - reinstall
   - reboot
   - still fails

I know that it is an installation issue.

Tim, how do I totally remove everything? What are the registry settings
that I need to go find to delete.

Both computers are w7/64. One works great (other than bad CW) and the
other fails poorly.
