In response to N4ZVN, I and others have received similar reports. I have tried different mics, buffer settings, eq settings, tx bandwidth settings, ferrites on all cables with special attention to firewire cable, different firewire cards, different final bias settings all with no change to the same reports that Ed and Others have heard. I have run the radio using both XP and Vista with the same results. My computer is a Core2 Quad Dell, 3 gig ram, 2.4 cpu and has low cpu usage. I have tried both 1.18.0 and the latest SVN consoles all with the same result. I, at this point have just had to accept that this is the way the radio will have to sound at the present time. Tim and Jeff, thanks for the reply. I have tried using the balanced lin input on the rear of the radio, along with the front mic connection, both with the same results. I have operated the radio with and without any eq or compander, both with the same results. I have also monitored my signal on another receiver and Jim and I both made recordings and have sent them to Dudley. Running 1.17.0 svn ver. 2635 and the TX meter goes to full scale when in alc,mic,cpdr,eq. lev etc when operating-goes to 200 db when radio is keyed, is anyone else seein the same thing? I returned home this eve from work, fired up the radio and it is working correctly. I had previously rebooted the radio with no effect. Go figure. Thanks for all the help. I just installed new console,firmware and firewire driver. Main receiver works as normal. 2nd Receiver comes up on the screen but no signals present. I have in the ant menu the rx1 tap checked. Firmware 1.2.1.10. Before installation of new software and firmware all worked as normal. What am I missing? Thanks for the help in advance. Tim - I only have the problem when I change to 6 meters on antenna connections 1 2. If I am on 80 meters and switch to 6 meters and then back to 80 I show a high SWR. If I am on 80 meters and switch to any other band with the exception of 6 meters it shows a 1 to 1 swr in tune. When I start out on ant 3 and make the switch back and forth from 80 to 6 and then back to 80 the swr is 1 to 1. Seems like my RFIO board is not operating properly. I do not have an antenna tuner. I am having trouble with the radio transmitting into the selected antenna connection. The radio is set it to coax 1 and to 80 meters. When I switch bands and then go back to 80 meters and transmit I am seeing a high SWR, then switch between ant 1,2,3 and set then set back to ant 1 it has a flat SWR. I am having the problem whether I am using the latest SVN console or 1.12.1, 1.2.0.3 firmware. I have a new rfio board series 34b. Computer is a quad core 2.4, 3.0 gig ram using either XP or Vista has no effect on the problem. Tim - I deleted the database and restarted radio, still have the same problem. I also ran the firmware upgrade for the series 34 rfio over again with no change. Should I be hearing a click from the relays when I change the TX antenna port? Operating on 75 meters for about 4 hours, the receiver locked up once, I also noticed a high SWR warning when transmitting into a known 1 to 1 match, but just one time in 4 hours of operation, then the radio locked up again after further operation and would not receive and would not reset by hitting mox. It would still transmit but no receive. I went back to Firmware 1.1.10 and radio operated normally. I tried 1.1.11 again and the radio locked up after several transmissions. I tried using 1.1.11 again this morning with the receive locking up again. Using a P-4 3.2, L2,2 gig ram computer. Downloaded the new firmware 1.1.10, SVN 2000, keyed and unkeyed radio with MOX many times(30) no drop out of receive, until joining a QSO then after several transmissions the drop out returned. Could it be that when RF is present it causes the problem? I disconnected my Griffin Powermate and the problem still persists. I am running 1.10.4 SVN 1963, P-4 3.2 , L-2cache , 2 gig RAM. I use VOX so when it hangs up I tap the mic to clear problem. I can find no consistency to the problem. I can go for several transmissions with no problem and then have it hang up on successive transmissions.
