[Flexradio] ShuttlePro Preferences File

2013-03-10 Thread Gary Carter
I'm still reloading software after my OS upgrade to Windows 7 , 64 bit.
In trying to import the Contour ShuttlePro 2 preference file I
downloaded from the Flex Radio web site the ShuttlePro control panel (v
2.81) says it can't import the file because it appears to be corrupt. Is
there a good working copy of this file out there?

Re: [Flexradio] ShuttlePRO

I reckon its a must have. I only use it for fine tuning CW sigs. And use mouse
for jumping around and pouncing.

I set the dial to tune in 100hz increments. Buttons for 5 khz tuning.

Has anybody tried to get the drivers from the Contour
website lately?
I've "registered" 4 times now, and haven't been sent

I registered the product when I bought it, but have
mislaid the drivers disk, and they won't allow access
to the drivers until you get an email reply from them.

 Hi Tim,

Thanks for your fast answer...

It would be nice if the powers that be could revisit the keymap and
bring it up to the current release of PowerSDR.

Seems like there are a number of vacant slots in the Alts & Ctls, not to
speak for three key combos...

I suppose I could make a recommendation if I knew who to make it to...

It appears that the Flexradio document keymap.pdf is not fully up to

no
corresponding key stroke listed in the PDF. Likewise CW memories don't

Re: [Flexradio] ShuttlePro, PowerMate. or neither?

2007-04-29 Thread Guy Atkins
I think the PowerMate knob works--and looks--great when mounted right on the
front of the SDR-1000. At the bottom of this blog entry is a photo and
comments of how I routed the cabling:
http://sdr-1000.blogspot.com/2006_07_02_archive.html

I used the ShuttlePro ver. 2.0 for a while, and even had custom button
labels printed for use under the clear keycaps. It just wasn't my style,
though. My use of the radio is split 50/50 between mouse and Griffin
PowerMate knob.

I have the Griffin PowerMate. I use it rarely. I find that using a mouse
for me is the easiest. I do understand that a lot of people like the
ShuttlePro because of its ability to program the buttons and the center
"joystick".

I keep the PowerMate on my desk because the blue LED bottom looks cool and
it blends in well with my radios (I bought a black one rather than silver).

[Flexradio] ShuttlePro

2007-03-04 Thread Mark Amos
All,

I haven't used the ShuttlePro for a week or so (it worked when I demo'd the rig
two weeks ago, but I haven't used it since.) It appears to have stopped talking
to PowerSDR. Anyone else notice it disappear or have any ideas where to look?

ShuttlePro device configuration works fine, the buttons light up, etc. I've
pointed it at the correct PowerSDR.exe (I'm using Alpha v1.9.0 SVN: 917.)

Is there a setting in the PowerSDR setup that I might have turned off that
would disable the ShuttlePro?

Re: [Flexradio] Shuttlepro and SVN 563

2006-08-25 Thread Eric Wachsmann
This may have to do with which .exe you associate the profile. I would hope
that it would just respond to any PowerSDR.exe process that runs, but it may
be more specific than that requiring you to reassociate it when you run a
console out of a different directory.

[Flexradio] ShuttlePro

2006-02-17 Thread George Bennett
I have just received my new SDR-1000 with the PreSonus Firebox and ShuttlePro 2.

Has anyone suggested a setup for the ShuttlePro? I haven't found anything
concerning the use of this with the SDR-1000 other than the manufacturer's
recommendation. I hate to reinvent the wheel if a set of instructions already
exists.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

A very useful feature for us avid am'ers would be a way to reverse the audio
phase 180 degrees somewhere before it gets to the modulator.
I tried checking the delta 44 in3 and in4 boxes for phase reversal but it made
no difference.

The difference in modulation positive versus negative going audio is dramatic
when using a good mike and audio chain, especially with the excellent low
end available with the sdr1000.

[Flexradio] ShuttlePro Preferences

2005-08-05 Thread Eric
In an attempt to flesh out the default ShuttlePro settings that are
offered on our website, I have modified W5ZLs original template to
toggle a few more of the options (some only available in v1.4.5 and
forward).

Attached is a picture of the layout. I would like suggestions on how to
improve this default setup, as well as suggestions on other templates.
There is no reason that we cannot come up with some good templates for
CW, ESSB, AM, SWL, etc. Let me know what you think.

After sending my first thoughts. I thought,
wait there's settings on the console that might be useful to bring out for
user control:

Let's add these controls to be "externally
available"

  NB on/off
  NB2 on/off
  NR on/off
  ANF on/off
  Display mode forward/backward, or individually
selectable, or toggle between two defined selections
  Preamp up/down
  power level up/down
  Bin on/off
  Mute on/off
  Mox on/off

2005-05-25 Thread FlexRadio - Eric
Thanks for starting this up Gary. Once the list has been compiled, it
would be great if the entire list of default keys could be added in an
excel table. This will make my job as easy as pie. I haven't looked
closely at the ShuttlePro software, but I'm assuming that you can add
Ctrl, Alt, Shift, or a combination of those keys with others. Keep that
in mind when deciding on default shortcuts.

[Flexradio] ShuttlePro Discoveries

2005-05-25 Thread Gary Schmidt W5ZL

With Dayton
behind me I took a few minutes on the airplane to play with my ShuttlePro and
found some very interesting features I hadn’t expected. While reading the
ShuttlePro manual pdf I downloaded from the Contour Design website (http://contourdesign.com/shuttlepro/shuttle_downloads.htm#win
will get you close) I discovered that rotating the SP’s spring-loaded outer
knob right or left scrolled the pdf page up/down, and the
“southeast” key pair zoomed the page in/out. I made a slight mod to
the Acrobat reader settings in the SP setup which also let me scroll using the
jog (dimpled) dial which I like even better. Similarly, as I was typing this
message in Outlook I found navigational functions already imbedded in the SP
settings. Same with PowerPoint.

I was also
trying to figure out how to multi-purpose certain controls or buttons on the SP
controller and there’s a way to do that as well. A little hard to
describe here, but it’s in the manual and very easy to set up. I’ll
be glad to share it with anyone who can’t find it, but look for the instructions
on “Switch Settings”, I think, in their pdf. Pretty funky little
invention this ShuttlePro!

Dayton was
exhausting and fun. Thanks in no small part to the infectious enthusiasm and
passion of all you guys in the FlexRadio community, the SDR train has
definitely left the station.

73,

Gary W5ZL
