Re: [Flexradio] Trouble playing back the recorder spectrum
You have recorded the audio incorrectly for playing IQ files. The Quick Record and Playback controls are intended for playing back audio recorded off the air back *over* the air and they are not suited for playback if you are not transmitting. Here is the procedure for what you are wanting to do. First make sure that the Options in the Wave form are set for the defaults. Receive: Pre-processed audio / Transmit: Post-processed Audio. Second, click on the RECORD button to start the recording. Click on it again to stop recording. It will create a unique mode and time stamped IQ audio file. To play it back, click on ADD in the Playlist section, select the file you want to play and then click on Play in the PlayBack section. Click on the Loop button if you want to loop the recording. The IQ recorded audio will not be on frequency. There isn't any meta data in the IQ recording to tell the DDS how to set itself properly so that the VFO matches the frequency you recorded at. Could this be the I/Q signals? - I do not see the spectrum display I saw when I was recording - when I tune to one of these (side-bands??) I hear the station that the rig was tuned to while recording Question - What is the problem? Re: [Flexradio] Trouble playing back the recorder spectrum
Yes, you can offset the radio VFO when you start the IQ recording. If you put the VFO dial frequency on the frequency listed in the file name, it will be off by the DDS offset (methinks) which is - 9 KHz by default. I haven't tried this in about 2 years so I am a little unsure of the required offset to make it sync properly. I tried this on both F5K and F1.5K and get same results Spectrum Recording procedure - Click 'Wave' on the menu (in PWRSDR) to open the Wave Panel - Set TX Gain 0 dB - Click 'Quick Rec' button to start recording (turns Yellow) - Click the 'Quick Rec' button again and it stops recording (turns White) - A message pops up telling you the location and file name.
