Re: [Flexradio] FLEX 1500 Power Output Observations
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We have found and fixed a bug that was likely causing this and will incorporate this into a future release. Re: [Flexradio] FLEX 1500 Power Output Observations
Good Morning All !! I am hoping someone at Flex will maybe take up this issue and give us some pointers / help . It seems just to be software related only and nothing is wrong with the '1500 I did use my 1500 ALOT during the VHF Contest this weekend and am VERY pleased with its versatile performance other than the power output issue. I am a QRO operator at heart and am planning to go up in ERP , but the power outout issues can result in differences of hundreds of watts at the antenna .. Anyway , is there any others that would please comment on their experiences on this power output issue and their remedies ??? 73s - Ron KA0RYT EN35 - Minn From: Eric Watkins To: "flexradio@flex-radio.biz" Sent: Thursday, June 14, 2012 10:12 AM Subject: Re: [Flexradio] FLEX 1500 Power Output Observations You are not alone!! I have noticed this behavior on my 1500 as well. I'm guessing there is an issue with the xverter power levels that isn't getting translated or set back the way it should when switching between xverter port and standard antenna port. My solution was to use the same port for all TX/RX and switch things externally between the transverters. You can also get a 28-50 xverter(I have several DEMIs) so the 1500 stays at 28mhz out the entire time. This is an additional layer/cost/complication, but you get the higher RX capabilities of the pre-amp in the transverter. There needs to be some additional work focused in this area before the 1500 is the killer xverter driver it's been billed as(I still LOVE my 1500). Until that gets sorted, I've set the 1500 to 28mhz in/out, at a single power level and I just leave it there. At 08:20 PM 6/13/2012, Ronald Bergantzel wrote: > Hello !!
