Matt,

As Neil said, be sure to check the Mixer menu and that the Mic is checked..
Then move the TX meter to Mic, this will be the first mic audio stage,
and increase you Mic Gain, most Mic will need at least 20 on the mic
gain..

As some else said, if you are using a computer type of mic, most do need a
bias to work, there is one Knowledge Center article that gives a circuit
that might help..

Go to the Mixer menu and make sure you have enabled the front Mic for input.

Many computer microphones are electret, and around 5 volts is provided by
the sound card in a computer for them. Here is one more or less random
reference I found with Google:

http://www.hobby-hour.com/electronics/computer_microphone.php

I wonder if you need this voltage with the headset you are trying to use now
and that in the past what worked may have been a dynamic mic that doesn't
need power.

Yes Mike, it's a custom wiring job, but it has always worked in the
past. Tip is wired to mic+ and ring to mic-.

Some high end microphones do need a 48v bias voltage, but I don't think
a computer headset mic needs it. At least it never used to on mine.

I wonder if some RF got into the audio circuitry in the flex and cooked
something? I have ferrites on every last thing that enters the Flex's
chassis, but you never know.

There is a tool available to backup and restore sections from the DB.

http://k9dur.rnaconsultingservices.com/SDRDataTransfer.aspx

You can use this to backup and restore your settings when you do a database
reset.

Pretty self explanatory when you load it up.

The frequencies that the rig will not transmit on are many and they change as

  Frank,

Is there any way to look at your .mbd with Microsoft Access? If the
frequency in the Band Text Table has false in the transmit table, the
SDR will not transmit on that frequency.

Now I'm getting somewhere. Now 3885.003 doesn't transmit. If I change the DDS

hear a relay in the rig click when this happens.

Re: [Flexradio] No Transmit

2007-01-08 Thread Frank Mayer
I think I'm getting somewhere now. The DDS setting in Setup/General/Hardware
Config is affecting the problem. If I auto calibrate to WWV it sets to 468 and
3885 starts to work. It was previously set to "0" after the install. It was
set to 407 when all the other freqs weren't working. I'm afraid to touch it
now! I thought that setting just calibrated the frequency accuracy of the
radio.

Re: [Flexradio] No Transmit

2007-01-08 Thread Frank Mayer
I just did and it initially transmitted on those frequencies. Then I started
putting all my transmit profiles back in and memories and now it's doing the
same thing agn in 1.9.0!
1.8.0 is still ok but I haven't changed any of the settings from default except
for 48k to 96k sampling rate. Oh boy

  Frank,

I just tried v1.8.0 & SVN 821 and could not duplicate the problem.

I would suggest starting with a clean, new database. Rename PowerSDR.mdb to
something else & start the console. When asked, do not import a previous
version.

Re: [Flexradio] No Transmit

2007-01-08 Thread Frank Mayer
I just deleted 1.8.0 completely from the hard drive and reloaded it. Transmits
on those frequencies now...Go figure. I'll now try the same thing with 1.9.0.
It works too. Very frustrating..

I have discovered today that there are some frequencies throughout the
bands that the radio will not transmit on. 1862 khz, 1862.057, 1861.990,
1861.969, etc. I can find these frequencies by changing the vfo while the rig
is tranmitting. I can hear a relay click inside the rig when it gets to these
frequencies and then the rig will not tranmit. Go up or down 1hz and the rig
will once agn transmit. Any ideas?

Re: [Flexradio] No transmit after 675

2006-09-13 Thread Gary W Strong
Richard:

What alpha version are you using? Are you using a Personus?

I don't have tune output, let alone any other mode with version 676 and
later. However, I have no problems when switching back to 675, or earlier
versions.

Importance: High

Alpha updates after 675 have no transmit output for me. I rechecked those
before, and the software works fine on transmit. After (676 and up to last)
do not.

I am using a Personus Firebox.
