[Flightgear-devel] Screen bug (?) - Repeating pattern - Any hint? Already known prob?
Hi all, I'm very glad the community is still hard working on FGFS, I enjoyed it very much in the past. I lost interest sometime ago because of my job, now I'd like to keep contributing with a few 3d models again but ... there's a prob with the screen that bothers me and I don't find to get the solution. The screen looks garbage after loading the scenario (see samples at: http://www.laubfrosch.it/fgfs/screen_bug/pic1.jpg http://www.laubfrosch.it/fgfs/screen_bug/pic2.jpg http://www.laubfrosch.it/fgfs/screen_bug/pic1.jpg), I guess it has to do with the graphic card but don't know where to investigate. Did anyone had the same prob and ended up solving it? My system: Windows XP Home Ed AthlonXp 2500+ Gigabyte GA-7VT600 ATI Radeon 9600 (Catalyst 8.4 default settings) Flightgear 1.0.0 (default settings) Tryed various changes in settings (both inside FGFS and Catalyst) but neither got any improvement :-( Have a nice time developing FGFS :-) thanks in advance for any hint Roberto - This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100url=/ ___ Flightgear-devel mailing list Flightgear-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/flightgear-devel

I'll see what info I can dig up on Sturgate for you. Oops sorry about that, must have got it mixed up with another default grass runway I've seen somewhere. Looks like the new runway hasn't got included yet. But then later he says that non-precision marking are not appropriate? Perhaps he could elaborate on that last point a bit? Hello Curtis, Quite a program you have on your hands :-) Sandtoft is a minor aerodrome and as such only has basic markings. Non-precision has the 'piano keys' which aren't required in this case. There is a splash screen as flightgear fires up featuring a Cub. The runway markings in that image, with the addition of one displaced threshold, are what I'm after. Usually this is the first thing to try if you encounter graphics problems with FlightGear. FlightGear uses OpenGL and many system ship with dated or poor or non-existant opengl drivers. jean pellotier ha scritto: this is similar as in tis topic in forum: http://www.flightgear.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=13727#p13727 changing point sprites for runway lighting to false made it working for some guys in french forum... Thank you Jean, this was the correct solution. It worked for me at least :-) First, some people in the forum suggested to change that point stripes options you mentioned from inside a running FGFS. Well, pretty unpractical since the interface is messed up and the Menu is unreadable. Solution is to manually edit the autosave.xml file (which is to be found inside Application Data\flightgear.org directory) before starting FGFS. Changing: point-sprites type=booltrue/point-sprites to: point-sprites type=boolfalse/point-sprites will do the trick :-) There's a wiki section explaining the problem and the solution; I added a couple sample images to it so that people can recognize their own problem comparing their screen with the one in the example, maybe adding the manual editing of autosave.xml solution could be helpfull too :-) I'm pretty curious what's wrong with this point-stripes option and the ATI cards. Anyway, thank you a lot, you made my day :-) Roberto - This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100url=/ ___ Flightgear-devel mailing list Flightgear-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/flightgear-devel
