it is great in did...!!! back in 2003 I did David Matlin's novel "How the night is divided" by selecting half the pages with a pair of dices for an expo in Mexico and I did some of the political speeches of Roberto Quaglia for La Notte Bianca in Rome 2004... FLUXLIST: Vispo Show
Cathy and I drove up to Cleveland Saturday to see the Blends & Bridges vispo show, curated by Bob Grumman, John Byrum, and Wendy Collin Sorin - it's really excellent, and very well hung and presented, with lots and lots of great stuff. If you're in the Cleveland area or anywhere near or you're passing through, don't miss this. The space has a lot of mirrors on the walls, which would be an exhibition nightmare, but John & Arleen really made it work. John: I've sent you a disk with the photos I took - they don't document the whole show, but can give an idea - maybe you could add to yr website if you wish. Rod, Well, what I really had in mind were the social characteristics of the medium, not the kind of media it could carry - but yes, aside from a few lists, bbased almost exclusively on text creation (like WRTYING-L, or _arc-hive_), most creative work proper seems to happen elsewhere. As a matter of fact, more and more people (even those concerned with codework) are using multimedia, which makes it difficult to use those lists (the usual way is to link to a URL, but that can be a bit bothersome). On the other hand, I liked that Fluxis Qiki thing (is it active?). I myself have started using OpenMute's tools (http://openmute.org) for my own uses (http://emit.omweb.org). It is cool, and carries the XOOPS CMS, which can be very handy indeed for collaborative work. Not much in the line of server space for uploads, though. So, yeah, long live the Fluxlist blog!
