Neverless, you should replace MASTER_SITE by:

Perhaps, you should also look at pkg-plist.

My guess what happend here:
During the upgrade process to 4.8, at first thunar-vfs was upgraded.
Then after this step, the old thunar 1.0.2 was deinstalled and during its
deinstallation, the fresh installed thunar-vfs files where removed because
in the previous version of thunar, the vfs stuff was included in thunar.
I'm pretty sure this happend here - I fear others will run into this problem
as well and I'm not sure how to work around that properly :(

I have never really heard good things about HandBrake. Are you running
the latest version, 0.95? Anyway, there are other utilities available
that you might want to investigate. I thought the Windows had a native
video transcoder also, but I have never fully investigated that

You can manually substitute version number in the URL from 1.3.35 to
1.3.34 and you will be able to download the file until somebody update

FreeBSD Port: smartmontools-5.40 / DEVICESCAN not working with adaX devices

2011-03-04 Thread Miroslav Lachman

Hi,

I upgraded one test machine to 8.2-BETA1 some time ago. Today I tried
kernel with ATA_CAM, so disks are ada0 and ada1 instead of ad4 and ad6.
I recompiled smartmontools, but daemon will not start with DEVICESCAN in
smartd.conf stating that there is NO device in the system's table.

If I substitute DEVICESCAN with specific device names, smartd starts OK.

Is it some known bug (upstream), or is it something specific to my local
config?

Example:

~/# egrep -v '(^#|^$)' /usr/local/etc/smartd.conf
DEVICESCAN

~/# service smartd start
Starting smartd.
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/smartd: WARNING: failed to start smartd

Then in /var/log/messages

Mar 4 13:22:42 kavkaz smartd[18869]: In the system's table of devices
NO devices found to scan
Mar 4 13:22:42 kavkaz quip: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/smartd: WARNING: failed
to start smartd

~/# egrep -v '(^#|^$)' /usr/local/etc/smartd.conf
/dev/ada0

~/# service smartd start
Starting smartd.

~/# sysctl kern.disks
kern.disks: ada1 ada0

~/# uname -srmi
FreeBSD 8.2-BETA1 i386 GENERIC_ata_cam

If you don't depend on tzupdater, you should run make config

Secondly, it's incomplete, since it doesn't provide an update for distinfo and

Thirdly, what about postgresql 8.x ? The current default postgresql is 84, not
90.
Fourth, the port is currently unmaintained (po...@freebsd.org) -- if you'd like

I'm don't understand why DEFAULT_PGSQL_VER is defined in this port, so i
just removed it. As far i understand, 9.x user should just define
DEFAULT_PGSQL_VER=90 in his make.conf to this port to not depend on 8.4

Hi,

If you want trash icon in Thunar, you should install devel/gvfs (AVAHI
and SAMBA are not necessary) and reinstall x11-fm/thunar (and probably
Thunar's plugins).

I am saying that if I start Thunar (for example by double-clicking on
the Home icon on the desktop), Thunar works, but there are NO icons
AT ALL in the Thunar windows.
Normally, Thunar have icons both in the left pane and the right pane.
However, no icons here.

In Xfce 4.8 management of panels is different regarding Xfce 4.6.x.
You can use Perl script (xfconf-migration-4.6.pl, in

backup you ~/.config directory and run a new session in order to
create a new ~/.config (you can delete xfce related stuff, it's

[FYI] Fwd: cvs commit: ports UPDATING ports/Mk bsd.python.mk

2011-03-04 Thread Barbara

 I needed to upgrade the following packages manually:
 gnome-desktop-2.32.1
 gobject-introspection-0.9.12
 libglade2-2.6.4_3

 They all had files in /usr/local/bin with:
 #!/usr/local/bin/python2.6

 Because of broken g-ir-scanner (gobject-introspection), the automatic
update
 of gnome-menus-2.30.5 failed.

I'd add multimedia/totem, graphics/eog, www/metacafe-dl

$ ldd /usr/local/bin/totem | grep libpython2.6.so
libpython2.6.so = not found (0x0)

$ ldd /usr/local/bin/eog | grep libpython2.6.so
libpython2.6.so = not found (0x0)

$ head -n 1 /usr/local/bin/metacafe-dl
#!/usr/local/bin/python2.6

and maybe multimedia/libkate as it installs the python script
/usr/local/bin/KateDJ which is not in pkg-plist and files in the directory
named kdj under site-packages.

 safer).

 I moved my old ~/.config elsewhere and tried; still no icons or menus. Also
 noticed that double-clicking the Home or File System desktop icons
 highlights them and then kind of... goes away.

Re: tumbler-0.1.6.tar.bz2 not found

2011-03-04 Thread Pavel Timofeev

thank you very much!
Last question:
# grep PORTVERSION /usr/ports/x11-wm/xfce4/Makefile
PORTVERSION=4.6.2
Is it right?

My guess what happend here:
During the upgrade process to 4.8, at first thunar-vfs was upgraded.
Then after this step, the old thunar 1.0.2 was deinstalled and during its
deinstallation, the fresh installed thunar-vfs files where removed because
in the previous version of thunar, the vfs stuff was included in thunar.
I'm pretty sure this happend here - I fear others will run into this
problem
as well and I'm not sure how to work around that properly :(

The usual way is to put a note in UPDATING that the old version has to
be removed first. See many iterations of this for
gstreamer-plugins-{good|bad}.
