GnuCASH-2.2.9 crashes when saving a custom report
As noted in the following bugzilla report, changing to slib-3b1 fixed this particular problem. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=446118 Unfortunately, there were a few complications in installing slib-3b1, some of which are noted in the following online comment. http://sources.redhat.com/ml/guile/2000-04/msg00114.html A PR to update SLIB has been submitted. When I was finally able to install slib-3b1, recompile GnuCASH-2.9.2, create a new Custom Report - I was then able to successfully SAVE the report (via "File/Add Report") and GnuCASH did NOT crash!! Re: Help test aqbanking-4.0.0 (especially with gnucash)
I picked up the new ports: gnucash-2.2.9_2 aqbanking-4.1.0 gwenhywfar-3.9.0 libgmp-4.3.1 guile-1.8.6_1 goffice-0.7.7 libgsf-1.14.14 and was able to build gnucash and aqbanking together successfully; I am able to do ofx operations (get statements) so it seems to work. I think there is some minor issue with regard to money market accounts (specifically, how the account type is represented within aqbanking) but I have patches to send upstream for it. Help test aqbanking-4.0.0 (especially with gnucash)
As I wrote two weeks ago, the aqbanking-2.3.3 to 3.8.1 update took away the command line banking client I use. Thus, I am eager to get 4.0.0, which includes a new one. I made a patch: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=135161 I need someone using gnucash with aqbanking to check the functionality of aqbanking-4.0.0 -- both do compile. I cannot use the new aqbanking-cli, yet. Knowing if gnucash works would help me to narrow down the cause. Converting the configuration from 2.X did not work out completely (aqbanking-cli and aqhbci-tool4 show no accounts), and I fail to communicate with my bank using a new configuration. Gnucash slow startup on FreeBSD 7.1
Hi, I recently installed GnuCash 2.2.7, guile 1.8.5, slib 3a4, and libtool 1.5.26, libltdl ? (all the latest ports cvsup) on FreeBSD 7.1 on an Acer Aspire 1680 (laptop). When I start gnucash, it then takes a VERY long time (~2 minutes) before I see the gnucash tip of the day and intro image. The tip of the day then takes another ~1 minute before it will respond to a mouse-click. If I remove my network connection, it takes an as yet undetermined amount of time to start (>6 minutes). After a little googling, it seems that slow startup was a known problem on earlier versions of FreeBSD, but one which should have been fixed with the patches that came with the port. When I run tross -o gnucash_startup gnucash cat gnucash_startup | grep ERR with the network attached, I see that gnucash runs through a list of directories several times (around 30), looking for the files libswigrun.so, libswigrun.la, swigrun, and swigrun.scm, none of which exist on my system according to locate (with a new locate.database). Could this be the source of my problem? Any help would be heartily appreciated. GnuCash
I made a port of GnuCash 2 from flotsam found on the net, but last month totally lost track. I still have a working copy of GnuCash 2.0.2 on one 6.2 prerelease desktop, but can not make it work on my stable workstation. Yesterday I noted that there's GnuCash 2.0.5 in ports now. I built it, but the symptoms were ... as ever: it hangs there doing very little, no window nor message ever comes out. Any ideas what could be the problem? On Jan 20, 2007, at 15:34 , Michael Johnson wrote: it is, we have patched versions of devel/libtool15 and devel/libltdl15 Ade (autotools maintainer) wants a good bit of testing done before it's committed, plus the dlopen is already committed upstream. In case anyone missed the subtly here... GNOMEish ports are by far and away the biggest consumers of libltdl. Since the patch in question affects run-time as opposed to compile-time, simply assuming that "hey, it builds, commit" doesn't really apply in this case. So if folks want to see this in the tree, please do test heavily on the MC GNOME repo which has these patches in place -- by doing so, it'll definitely speed up the process. The port runs fine and seems quite stable, but I have found an issue where transactions entered with memorized merchants will not accept new dollar values. Instead the value of the previously entered transaction for that merchant is entered instead. Once the transaction is entered, the user can go back to the register and change it - but this results in essentially entering transactions twice. I've posed the same question to gnucash-users with no answers. I also installed and ran a GnuCash Linux livecd within a VMware VM and loaded my data into it. The problem does not occur there. Has anyone else had an issue like this? I have seen something similar. And it is similar to something PJeremy@ once mentioned... On occasion I can not delete a portion of a split transaction. It says it is open elsewhere. Once that happens... I can no longer enter new [memorized] transactions, as it does not remember them. If I then enter the expense category, it will not accept any dollar value. I must restart. It doesn't happen often, so not a big deal for me. Just mentioning it as a "me too". Re: gnucash will not install/run.... [SOLVED]
Well, I got gnucash2 compiled and installed, but it won't start up. It's running in the background but the gui is not showing up. I checked the Gnucash FAQ about slow starts on FreeBSD and it says to, "you need to set "libltdl_cv_sys_dlopen_deplibs=yes" in the environment before running the ./configure command." ...does this apply to gnucash2 as well? If I run strace on the process it just keeps spinning through the library search. Any ideas? Thanks. On Thu, 2006-11-23 at 10:41 -0600, Scott T. So for me it went like this: 1) portdowngrade g-wrap 2) setenv FORCE_PKG_REGISTER yes (needed because slib-guile will complain) 3) portupgrade -f g-wrap 4) Don't forget to use pkgtools.conf to hold the port for now.
