 One alternative to this would be that we simply release 3.0 earlier.
In practice this would mean that it, despite major version bump, would

branching S3_0 with just selected additions to what we currently have

compatibility issues with all kind of dependencies, such as problems

Attached fix removes gameseed setting (use default of 0 instead of fixed
seed). This (randomly set) seed matters only when starting the game from the
scenario file where random state is not saved. Once player saves a game as a
normal savegame, random state gets saved, and after reloading that random
state is what matters, not the seed.

The action not enabled explanation system can explain that an action can't be
done because the actor unit is transporting another unit. Demand that the hard
rule forbidding a unit from airlifting or paradropping while transporting
another unit is included in the respective action's action enablers. This
allows the action specific check to be dropped.

It isn't. The probability of victory is leaked from the server to the player.
See bug #24801. (My fix to bug #24801 will hide the real problem in the
"Battleship in city" case)

If you have a stack of units selected (say 32 stealth bombers), and trade
route display is enabled, then the circle cursor animation (and client in
general) is very slow (unusably, on my machine). Either selecting only a
single unit, or disabling trade route display, makes it much faster.

First seen with freeciv-gtk2, Amplio2 tileset, 2.5.4. Gtk3 and Qt seem not to
suffer from the slowdown nearly as much.

(I'd guess it's redrawing the traderoute lines unnecessarily for every unit in
the stack, or something, and maybe Gtk2 traderoute drawing is just
particularly slow.)
