Re: [Freecol-developers] FreeCol: Contribute Programming and Content Writing

2020-08-30 Thread Mr. Paul
Hi Blake and Winter,

Sorry for a slow reply.
Thank you for plenty of info and some very good points.
I personally think that having number of muskets and horses displayed is not a
cheat. It was present in the original Colonization, which was pretty balanced.
If we know the military strength of nations in Foreign Advisor, then knowing
the strength of Indian nations would be something similar. Actually knowing the
muskets and horses number is even less info than military strength.
It is also historically accurate, the colonists met the natives all the time,
seen the settlements. It was quite easy to see the relative amount of
weapons/horses in the settlement or present at the individual. And of course,
they were spies, informants, etc.
It’s just my opinion.

Thank you,
Pavel

2020-08-12 Thread Mr. Paul
Hi Blake,

Thank you so much for your response and encouragement!
I am wondering if the first steps I should do in order to contribute for
development are stated here?
http://www.freecol.org/news/first-steps-for-contributing-to-freecol-website.html

<http://www.freecol.org/news/first-steps-for-contributing-to-freecol-website.html>

Does the instructions for Mac similar to the ones for Linux?

Also, should I become a member to make posts easier to
freecol-developers@lists.sourceforge.net
<mailto:freecol-developers@lists.sourceforge.net>
?

Thanks again,
Pavel

[Freecol-developers] FreeCol: Contribute Programming and Content Writing

2020-07-24 Thread Mr. Paul
Hi FreeCol Developers’ Team,

I am currently a Computer Science student with focus on Java programming. I am
also a huge fan of original Colonization and FreeCol.
I am excited to have a chance to contribute for the programming part (bug
fixes, new functionality) and historical content writing (I am big gan of
history!).

Please let me know how would be the best to help.

Thanks,
Pavel
