no, AFAIK you will need to add the Radius logic thats there in the NAS/AP.
What you need is bits and pieces of both radclient and xsupplicant This should
not be too hard to do and does sound like a fun project. I can help out with the
coding if you want! What EAP methods (MD5/TLS/LEAP?) are you planning to test?

No, you're right. But that isn't much different than multiple
packet exchanges. Just divide by N.

I would suggest using xsupplicant as a start, and writing a
stand-alone command-line EAP client.
That is, you're going to *have* to write an EAP client to do the
load testing, so you might as well write a generic one, and then use
that to do load testing.
Thanks.

I haven't taken a close look at xsupplicant, and I realize this is somewhat
off topic, but do you happen to know off the top of your head whether
xsupplicant can talk directly to FreeRADIUS as a UDP client without going
through a NAS of some description?

RE: Oracle and stored procedure

2003-06-30 Thread Tim McCracken

Depending on what you are trying to do, Oracle stored procedures
can be called using triggers as well. Triggers are typically
executed on updates, deletes and inserts into tables.

I think (am not sure, because I've been out of the Oracle
business for awhile) that version 9 allows triggers on
views that allow to update through a view.

EAP load testing...

2003-06-30 Thread Desmond Rivet
Hi all,

I would like to obtain a FreeRADIUS client to perform EAP load testing.

I have taken a look at the performance-testing paper located with all the
other FreeRADIUS documentation. From what I could tell, it is geared mainly
towards those authentication methods that can be accomplished with one
simple RADIUS exchange (i.e. you send an Access-Request and you get back an
Access-Accept or Access-Reject). If I am wrong in this assessment, please
let me know.

So...before I attempt to write a FreeRADIUS load tester that can handle
multiple EAP exchanges before getting an Access-Accept or Access-Reject, can
anyone suggest a simpler approach?

Thanks!

Re: free radius 0.7.1

2003-06-30 Thread Omachonu Ogali

You want to have FreeRADIUS reload its files,
right?
kill -1 `cat
/var/run/radiusd/radiusd.pid`

That's the command you need to execute, and
FreeRADIUS will automatically reload its configuration files and modules
(assuming there are no configuration or module errors) upon receiving the SIGHUP
(-1) signal. Rakesh was incorrect when he said it would kill the FreeRADIUS
process.

Also, before restarting, it would be a good idea to
run check-radiusd-config to make sure there are no configuration or module
loading errors. If check-radiusd-config returns with a non-zero status, then
there's a problem with your configuration files and/or modules, your script
should spit out an error, and skip the restarting of FreeRADIUS.

You may include
this command in your restart script: kill -1 `cat

Sure, fill out the form at http://www.iana.org/cgi-bin/enterprise.pl .
It's free, and you'll have your enterprise code in a week or so.

AcctUniqueId does NOT work

2003-06-30 Thread Daniel Destro do Carmo
Hello All,

I need to get information from the table RADACCT from MySQL
to pull a report.

But, as I can see, the AcctUniqueId does not work as an
Unique Id for a single call.

An plus, Radius duplicates the entries of a single call on
the database, recording, for example, more than one STOP
signal.

How can I solve this? What should I do to extract the exactly
information about unique calls, as I can pull a report to
tell how many minutes I have in the DB.

Thanks

Nortel 5399

2003-06-30 Thread kaelw
Has anybody gotten the 5399 from Nortel to work with Freeradius? The version of
software os is 18.0.2 which is the latest and last version forthe 5399. According to
the archives this is the version that I need tobe at. I am getting Error: Received
packet from XX.XX.XX.XX with invalid Message-Authenticator! I have the latest
dictionary that has Annex attributes. Any suggestions would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks in advance

FR-0.8.1
Linux RH9

Hi (1st question of what may be hundreds...),

I have just installed FreeRADIUS, I am developing it for use with web
portals and auth with MySQL user tables.
I am an absolute beginner on Linux but I have unzipped FR-0.8.1 into the
root directory.

My 1st problem:
I don't have the appropriate gcc, cc files to compile my server.

Can someone please help me out?

Cheers in advance,

Rob

Realms

2003-06-30 Thread Chad Stalvey
Has anyone ever used realms to determine which database will be used when
authenticating. I'm trying to separate users out by location where each
location may have multiple Nas's.

Thanks.

RE: Dialup_admin problems

2003-06-30 Thread Rob Simkins
Hi Andrew/list,

Sorry I do not have a response to your question, I am developing
something very similar to your system.

I was wondering if you would mind me asking you questions when I get
stuck. This is my first SQL/RADIUS project and I was hoping to get some
direction from this list. I need to develop a hotspot management system
for wifipod (my new employer) so that we can authenticate and bill
users.

We were looking at FUNK SBR but we would obviously prefer to save money
and do it in-house. We want to use Colubris CN3000s at the hotspot
locations and use the "white pages" as web-portals to get the user info
to our MySQL database at our HQ. This can then be authenticated using
RADIUS.

It is the initial stage of the project so we are looking at feasibility
and timelines right now.

How long do you think it would take me to do assuming I can create
decent tables and I am new to FreeRADIUS development?

All the best,

Rob

Cisco VoIP billing directly to DB

2003-06-30 Thread Peter Nixon
Dear Lists

I appologise for the crosspost, but I don't know which list this user is on.

I recieved a mail this morning (It may have been sent yesterday though) from a
FreeRADIUS user asking for help with direct accounting of Cisco VoIP radius
packets to a backend Database.
Due to a mistake (entirely my fault) with rsync my inbox between notebook and
workstation I managed to lose this email.

The short answer is that yes you can directly insert Cisco VoIP attributes (or
any other non "standard" radius attribute for that matter) into a DB simply
by modifying the sql.conf (in my case postgresql.conf).

The schema I use is in src/billing along with the config file I use.

If the user who sent me the email wishes to repost to the list I can answer
any other questions also :-)

Regards
