SV: [Freevo-users] Probs integrating XML TV
I have noticed the things also, when fiddling with my Swedish xmltv ersatz. The silly things is that I can't remember when I got the Jan 1 effect, because now it's gone. I still have channels detected correctly, but without data. So that's the same. /PS -Ursprungligt meddelande- Från: Oliver Welter Till: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Skickat: 2004-01-29 08:18 Ämne: [Freevo-users] Probs integrating XML TV Hi, I have a problem integrating xmltv listings into freevo... My /tmp/TV.xml looks like this... channel id=RTL.tvtoday.de display-nameRTL/display-name /channel . programme start=2004012700 stop=20040127003500 showview=77-640 channel=RTL.tvtoday.de title lang=deNachtjournal /title desc lang=deMit Susanne Kronzucker/desc /programme In my local_conf I have tried these variants for TV_CHANNELS: ('3', 'RTL.tvtoday.de', 'SE15') ('3', 'RTL', 'SE15') ('RTL.tvtoday.de', 'RTL', 'SE15') Now I want to watch TV - I see the channels from TV_CHANNELS in my list and can view them, but there is no programm data for these channels... Another strange thing: in the uper left corner of the channel schedule the date of 27. Jan is displayed, but under the schedule there is 1-Jan 0:00 - 4:41, my system date is correct, so what Im doing wrong ?? AW: [Freevo-users] Automated shutdown?
Hi all, On Wed 28.01.2004 at 12:53:23PM +0100, Pferdekaemper, Thorsten wrote: Hi, I have had a look at your coding and I have tried something similar. On my system, the line r = self.lircd_sock.recv(64) blocks until I press a key on my remote. It seems that the line self.lircd_sock.setblocking(0) has no effect. Perhaps this depends on the version of LIRC and the driver you are using. I don't think it depends on Lirc; it should be a system feature. I have no idea why it doesn't work for you, though :( I have checked it again and now I know that in fact, it does not block. Sorry... It seems that I am not familiar enough with the exception handling... And another question so far...: How do you make sure that the system does not shut down while watching TV? I assume that this has something to with the function set_tv_video()... My idea was that if you watch TV, you have been using the remote control to access the menu that starts the TV. And if you use the remote control, the auto-off is disabled until nukkumaatti receives a SIGHUP. This also allows to discriminate an automatic wake-up (for scheduled recordings) which require an automatic shutdown once the show is recorded, from a manual wake-up (where the user will use the remote control at some time, hopefully). It also allows the machine not to shutdown if the user starts to use it after an automatic wake-up. Ok. I was not aware of the fact, that nukkumaatti never will shut down if the user pressed a button. It only shuts down if the user never pressed a button. But as you can notice, the feature to shutdown if the users gets asleep in front of the TV is not implemented. The system lacks a sensor for checking if the user sleeps or nor :) ...but it also does not shut down if you want to record something starting in about half an hour, but you want to go to bed immediately. I.e. you have hit a key on your remote to schedule the recording. I am currently trying to write a plugin which can be used instead of the base.shutdown plugin normally used by freevo to handle the shutdown command in the main menu. This way, I can shut down freevo in a cleaner way than just shutting down the system. I also want to check if the system is ready to shut down when the user chooses shutdown from the main menu. I've just reinstalled freevo on my debian woody system. The system is actually a mix woody/sarge/sid but most packages are woody. I can't run the freevo debs cause they depend on X 4.2 and for some reason the X in sarge or sid won't run on my system. Thanks for those suggestions /usr/bin/mencoder tv:// -t driver=v4l: Have you tried the correct driver (v4l2) yet? I've swapped between the two of them - other than the warning about compatibility it seems to make little difference input=2:norm=PAL:width=320:height=240: Have you tried width=384:height=288 or width=360:height=288 yet? I can imagine that this is a little bit faster. I've stuck with 320x240 as I understood this to be closest to the actual TV resolution. Wouldn't these higher resolutions slow it down somewhat? Or are they easy to scale to than 320x240? outfmt=yv12:devi ce=/dev/video0:input=2:audiorate=32000:fps=19:forceaudio:forcechan= 1:buffersize=64 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4: Have you tried mjpeg yet? This will produce bigger files, but with (IMHO) less CPU. You could transcode them to mpeg4 afterwards. mjpeg used much less cpu - I'm not too concerned about filesize, so this looked promising. However, when ever I used this I got a horrible strobe effect that made it unwatchable.
