Re: [Freevo-users] Starting recordserver crashed
Thank you Tanja, I didn't even try the recordserver after I got that error message but you're right, it works (at least I've managed to record a show successfully now!) I have the freevo recordserver working on a server without a desktop and I connect to the server from my other computers (using freevo). The server is also used as a fileserver. The webserver functionality will eventually be enabled as well but that is not so important. The really cool thing I will try to do soon is to remove the disk from my tv-computer and do a network boot instead, to reduce heat and noice. 2007/9/5, Jody Gugelhupf [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Hi ppl i have freevo 1.7.3 running on a ubuntu feisty machine, had to downgrade twisted too, but works fine since i did that without any error messages anymore... anyhow, christian, u have it running on a system without a desktop? so u just use the webserver functionality? jody --- Tanja [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi Just for the record, I also see that same error message after downgrading twisted, but my recordserver seems to work nonetheless. So it's possible to record two channels if they are in the same stream (with one receiver, of course). If I'm not wrong, this feature will be in freevo 2. [Freevo-users] Stream live-TV from freevo recordserver
I am trying to install Freevo but I encountered a problem and I'm not sure how it works. I want to be able to watch live-tv from several computers! I have tried MythTV previously but I don't like the frontend of MythTV and I really like how Freevo is working (simple and easy to use). I have been able to record shows from another computer using Freevo but when I press play for an ongoing show the screen goes black for a second but then nothing happens. So I'm thinking, is it all possible to watch live-tv from a computer that only have Freevo but no tv-card? Re: [Freevo-users] Stream live-TV from freevo recordserver
hi christian :) I wanted to be able to do the same thing, to watch live-tv from a computer that does not have a tv card or freevo installed and over the internet, so i came up with this: http://freevo.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/doc/TipsAndTricks#head-0d183c9bc8870ce53a63467d2dfb3bc9f454f0a9 this basically initiates and streams from your tv card using the freevo webserver, so this woudl also work for you, but if you want it to work from within freevo at each machine and not use the webserver you should be able to take those *.rpy scripts i used and do some modifications to make it work with the freevo program, i could alos imagine that it should not be too difficult as the freevo application also uses python, but i'm far from being an expert ;) good luck jody :D --- Christian [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I am trying to install Freevo but I encountered a problem and I'm not sure how it works. Re: [Freevo-users] ivtv problem with HVR-1300
Speaking from the top of my head without the facts in front of me, I don't believe this card has ivtv support...yet. The Hauppauge website has words to the effect that they hope ivtv will develop support for it at a later date. I'm also assuming, this is the PCI card variety. The HVR usb dongle does have v4l experimental drivers that have had mixed results, but that's about all I've read on this subject.Sorry for the buzz kill. --- Duncan Webb [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Pirlouwi wrote: Hello, I just bough this Hauppauge HVR-1300.
