I have a multitude of maillist memberships.

Finding old stuff means you need a good search engine and good search
strategies - and then mailing list or forum gives no advantage.

Mailist provides the means of searching through archives much easier and
simpler since it's all in the user's desktop/laptop and it's all
threaded and you can use it when one does not have an I-net connection
available. (like me)

I'd expect more newer users wanting a forum and less older users, and
 that
with time there will be enough interest to maintain a forum - someone
 has to
read and answer the posts, remove spam, and maintain some order when
 arguments develop.

Hey.. who're you calling old?? :-)

One question: why do you use a fixed width. It looks kind of strange
with all the white space on the lft and on the right. Why not a fixed
width for the box on the left and the remaining space for the content?

Off course I do like the fact that you mention FreevoLive on the website. :-)

Because that's the way it was when I inherited the code :) Someone else
did the initial work on this design around a year ago but never
implemented the new site. I just picked up their code and started adding
content to it.

The only thing I can think of is that when the new site goes live, the
wiki's going to look very outdated, not that it doesn't already. Maybe
the wiki could be themed to look like the new site?

I'd add that I have 14 mailing list memberships and a few more forum ones. I
am active with the mailing lists, reading all posts, but never read all on
the forums, except one where I moderate and am responsible for reading every

Just had some time to check the site and it looks very good.
Only one little thing: If I click on the main menu items which have
subitems, there's no link behind it.
(See Download in the right menu. No link, but if I use the Donwload link
in the top-menu I see a page).

Overall: Very good work!

Greets,
