Re: Excruciatingly slow printing in OS X

2003-01-29 Thread April Westberg
Do you have the most recent drivers form Epson? I see that their
released the most recent driver in November of last year. (It says
10.0-10.1 only, however my Epson Photo 820 runs fine with the driver
that says 10.1.3-10.1.5 only.) I had big troubles with Epson 820's back
when I was in 10.1 with the Print Center crashing, but in Jaguar things
are better.
If you have the latest driver, you may try using Print Center Repair
(search for it on VersionTracker.com) and see if this solves anything.

Re: .Mac or .Crap?

2002-11-05 Thread April Westberg
I'd be interested in an answer to this too. This also happened to me,
however it happened in September. I thought at the time it was because
I had not yet signed up for .Mac and was still on the trial version. I
didn't really care about the messages, since that is not my primary
email address, but I was still annoyed. I was contemplating making .Mac
my permanent email address, but now I'm not so sure

Entourage ate my mail

2002-10-03 Thread April Westberg

Sorry if this is OT, but there has been a lot of discussion about
Entourage on this list so I there must be a wealth of knowledge about it
on this list.
I personally use Mail.app, but I have a frantic client who called and
said that Entourage ate her mail. She is using v.X with X on her PowerBook.
She had it configured in pop mode and did not have the mail set to stay
on the server.
She apparently was burning a cd when her computer crashed and upon
restart her Entourage mail was gone. She tells me that when she started
Entourage it came up with the first start/ set-up-your-account dialogue.
Does this ring a bell to anyone? Are there certian files I can look
for? Is this the symtoms of a corrupt mailbox ? Is her mail recoverable?
Feel free to respond off list.
Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom you can lend,

firewire card in Lombard with 10.2

2002-09-12 Thread April Westberg

I recently upgraded my Lombard to 10.2 since then I have been unable to
use my IBM firewire PCMCIA card to connect to my DV camera. My camera
is a Sharp, not one of the ones listed as supported by iMovie, but it
did work under 10.1.x.
Now when I connect my camera in iMovie and try to import footage, it
tells me there is no camera connected. I'm not sure if the change has
to do with the camera or with the firewire card.
Is anyone else using firewire cards with 10.2? Any ideas would be
welcome.
