s-video out on my wallstreet

2005-04-23 Thread Dave NovaK
Hey there all...
I dunno if this has been covered a million times or not, but I can't seem to
get anything out of my S-video plug. I have a WSII/300/192mb RAM (with the
big screen). I'm running 10.2.8 primarily (with 9.2, too).

Can't get anything using either OS9 or OSX. Don't know if or where there's
an option to make it active or not.

In a somewhat related subject, the VGA out only works on OS9. Any way to
make it active with OSX?

Thanks,
Dave

VGA out on my wallstreet

2004-12-01 Thread Dave NovaK
Hallo all.
Got myself a WS II (the one with the 14 lcd) and want to have the option to
use an external monitor.

The VGA out only appears to work under OS9. I primarily use 10.2.8 (like I'm
doing right now), but I get nothing from the port when using 10.2.8.

What gives?
PS: Does anyone have a spare logic board for me? My battery doesn't charge
anymore and I'm pretty sure it isn't the battery. Already replaced the DC
board to no avail. I have a WSII 300mhz.

External burners from old internal IDE burners - would it work?

2004-10-11 Thread Dave NovaK
I had an idea. Instead of dropping the big bucks for an internal burner for
my Wallstreet, maybe I could put an old IDE burner to use.

My idea would be to get a cheapo USB enclosure and plug it in.
I have an old 4x/4x/32x IDE drive (from an old PC) hanging around collecting
dust.

It would plug into my Wall Street via a PCMCIA USB card.
Think it would work?

WS LCD backlight prob - fixed; no OS9 boot, though

2004-09-30 Thread Dave NovaK
You know what, I'm not sure I asked this very clearly in the first=20
place. Let me elucidate. The answer may still be the same, but=20
question is slightly different. :-)
If a person already has his drive partitioned into 2 partitions. If=20
he has already installed OS X, but didn't install the OS 9 drivers=20
when he installed OS X. Then subsequently he installs OS 9 on the=20
second partition (he still can't install the OS 9 drivers without=20
reformatting the drive). Now...
Can he boot into OS 9 from the OS on the second partition?
He = me.
I just answered my own and your question.
I booted in OSX from the HD. I popped the 9.2 CD in, and selected it as the
startup disc. It restrarted in 9.2 from the CD and I successfully installed
it on the 2nd partition.

But now I can't get it to boot to 9.2 from the second partition. It is
recognized in the list of startup discs in System Prefs, though.

Think there's any way I could actually start up in OS9 now?
BTW, it miraculously did fix the LCD backlight program in OSX.. so at least
that good came of it.

Wallstreet LCD backlight not turning on after wake from sleep / installing OS9

2004-09-28 Thread Dave NovaK
Just like the subject says, my Wallstreet's LCD backlight won't turn back
on
after it wakes up from going to sleep. I also have to manually hit the the
brightness control button (either bright or dark) upon each bootup to get
the LCD backlight going.

I'm running 10.2.8, and when I originally loaded the OS in, I didn't have
this problem. Maybe three months down the line, for no good reason, it
started doing this.

Wallstreet 300mhz, 192mb RAM, 20g HD, CD/DVD, OS 10.2.8

Reboot in OS 9, from HD or CD. It's the only thing I know helps.

That would be an option... if I had OS9 installed.
How do I revert back from 10.2.8 to something else? Can I undo those
automatic updates?

I want OS9 installed.
Why I don't have OS9 installed:
I replaced the HD with a 20gig Travelstar.
So I had a completely new hard drive, and OSX discs, but no OS9 discs. I
installed 10.2.8 to the first partition (8gb rule), and had another 12g
partition.

I can't seem to get the 'book to boot from the OS9 CD, tho (yes, I'm holding
the C key throughout the boot). It sucks, and I really want to be able to
use OS9.

What gives?
Again: Wallstreet 300gHz, 192mb RAM, 20g HD (8g/12g partitions)
