I'm convinced that those Mr. Clean sponges are the greatest thing since 
sliced bread -- if they clean a TiBook the way they did my iBook (that 
was the first and last white computer of any sort I'll buy -- too easy 
to get stains from my fingerprints, etc.) you'll be a happy camper. I've 
used them for all sorts of stains where I previously used solvents, with 
no scratches or damage to the plastics.

any hope for my iBook monitor?

I broke the right side of my 3-month-old iBook yesterday (don't ask 
how...) and was sending an email describing what it looks like to a pal 
(takes me back to the days of my old 512: I have basically an 10 x 10 
monitor plus garbage to the right ... Just for the hell of it, I used 
Grab to send him a screenshot, and just for the hell of it, I opened the 
file before sending it: believe it or not, the screen looked just as it 
did before the accident. Does that mean there's any cause for faint hope 
that it might be saved (or to I have to take a shot with Grab every 10 
seconds from now on..)????????

the lower left of my iBook (the 14" 1.2 g version) is overheating in 
that area as well (the Mac Genius at the local Apple Store said that's 
where the HD is located) -- it's a real pain in the neck: this is my 4th 
Mac laptop, and I've NEVER felt heat before.  I smell a recall coming 
up... glad I got 3 yrs. of AppleCare...

my Pismo's gone crazy

Hi. My Pis worked like a dream for 3 years until two weeks ago, on 
vacation, when it developed all sorts of problems:

  * it's taken me ages to type this short message, because I'll
suddenly find myself typing in the midst of the last  paragraph,
or (this is a first) in a smaller font size
  * the trackball won't work -- had to buy a mouse
  * the power cable is loose: one minute it seems I'm  on AC, and the
next, I'm on reserve power.
I'm going nuts. Any ideas?

another list about being able to replace the cells in a Pismo battery.

that the incumbent uses a Mac.  However, not that it's come out that the

Re: Apple DVD Player and S-Video Out

This thread reminds me of a question I've wanted to ask for a long time: 
whenever I've tried to play a DVD on my TV using my Pismo, I've been 
able to get the video, but not the audio. Does the s-video carry the 
audio as well, or do I need a separate cable from the Powerbook's audio 
output to the TV's input?
Simple minds want to know.

PS: why does the spell-check on Navigator 7.0 want me to change Pismo to 
Gismo and Powerbook to Powerboat? Do they know something I don't 
know? In a disaster, could I hold onto my Powerbook/Powerboat and float?

disk so fragmented that Norton gives up!

I've cleaned out about half 4-4.5 gigs of my Pismo hard-drive, getting ready
to finally go Jaguar. However, it's really fragmented -- in fact, so
fragmented that Norton Utilities gives up soon after I launch it. I've never
had that happen before.  Is this nature's way of telling me that I need to
back up everything and completely reformat my hard drive? I know that's the
morally-pure thing to do, but I'm always looking for a quick way out
