A completely different iPod question (OT)
Hi list- I have a 12 Al-book on which I have an extensive iTunes library. I just purchased a used iPod which may come with some music that I want to get rid of. In fact, I would like to set the iPod to its original settings, clean of all personalization, as it comes from the store. Is there an easy way to return it to this state? If I do this will it want to be registered, which I'd have no problems doing, or is that not something to do. Does anyone have any source of info on setting up a used iPod? I wouldn't think that Apple has this info but I might be wrong. Thanks in advance for any help. dan_A -- G-Books is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and... Re: A completely different iPod question (OT)
There is a reinstall option when you first plug it in which will wipe it clean. Should be obvious once you start. -Original Message- From: dan_A [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thu Nov 18 07:16:16 2004 To: G-Books Subject:A completely different iPod question (OT) Hi list- I have a 12 Al-book on which I have an extensive iTunes library. You say when you plug it in... is that into the AC alone or when first connecting to the Al-book. And if into the book, then how do I prevent the iPod from wiping out my iTunes file in the book, and replacing it with whatever is on the iPod. Sorry, this is a new area for me. I did download all the manuals that I could find but I don't want to learn at the cost of losing my iTunes file. dan_A -- G-Books is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and... The app warned me that it would erase all of the current files on the iPod and happily, it did. Everything works and seems to be fine except for one thing. The capacity on the iPod is still showing that it has 3. something gigs out of the 9. something gig capacity, filled... which was the space the old files were taking. The old files are not to be found on it and iTunes said they were erased. So why is it reading as 1/3 full? I just uploaded about a dozen 4-5 minute songs. dan_A -- G-Books is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and...
