Re: Default Application in OS X Panther
Select one of your .doc documents. Don't open it. Select get info from the file menu. Under the option for Open with:, select Microsoft Word. Below that you should see this option: Use this application to open all documents like this. Right below that you should see a button called Change All. Click that button and it will change Microsoft Word to the default application. Regards, -- Aaron Willems Network Administrator Lieberman Productions Philo Television Hello. Re: Default Application in OS X Panther
Well I sort of found the answer. I did a Get Info on a word document and from there was able to set Word as the default application. Everything works fine now, with all word documents opening in Word, only trouble is that they still have the Nisus icons with doc on them. Any way to reset the icons back to Word icons? FWIW, it's not anything you did. The same thing happened to me when I downloaded Nisus. Apparently changing your default word processor is supposed to be a helpful feature. I spent a while trying to get the icons to change to no avail. Eventually some of them changed but I don't know why. When I want to use Nisus, I use Nisus, but when I want to use Word (my default), I should be able to use Word. How annoying.
