Hi Stan, if you are using OS 10.3, all you have to do is before opening the document, command click it, then go to open with: select the program that you want to open that kind of document and that will be the default for other docs. Absolutely Method #1 what you want to do is control click a Appleworks file then choose Open with and then just choose Appleworks. Method #2 Put a Applework icon in your Dock and next time you want to open a file created with Appleworks just drop it over the Dock icon. Method #3 Single click the icon of any Appleworks document (to highlight) press the command key (apple key) and the letter I key (I as in information) a window inspector will appear, chose open with, then chose Appleworks and than click on change all. In the popup menu, select AppleWorks.
