Is there any way I can get Word to stop trying to be my default?

Hi Stan, if you are using OS 10.3, all you have to do is before opening
the document, command click it, then go to open with: select the
program that you want to open that kind of document and
that will be the default for other docs.

Re: Default word processor?

2004-02-17 Thread Hugo Trottier
Absolutely Method #1 what you want to do is control click a Appleworks
file then choose Open with and then just choose Appleworks.
Method #2 Put a Applework icon in your Dock and next time you want to
open a file created with Appleworks just drop it over the Dock icon.
Method #3 Single click the icon of any Appleworks document (to
highlight) press the command key (apple key) and the letter I key
(I as in information) a window inspector will appear, chose open
with, then chose Appleworks and than click on change all.

Best regards

In the Finder, click the file once. Select Get Info from the File menu.
In the window that opens, click the Open with tab. In the popup menu,
select AppleWorks. If AppleWorks doesn't appear, select Other... from
the same popup and navigate until you find the AppleWorks application.
