I did a few more tests. Trying to do maximum size exits full screen mode but
the window fills the entire screen. As soon as I go to full screen mode, the
picture shrinks about half the size it has when in maximum mode. I have
taken 2 pictures showing the picture size in full screen mode and in maximum
size mode. Let me know if you want me to email them to you. I guess I'll
have to stop by the Apple store...

Re: iBook DVD Player question

2005-03-21 Thread Mike McGinnis
Laurent,
My wife has a 800mhz, G4, 12 10.3.x iBook , her's
will play DVDs full screen.
Mike

My daughter has a 1GHz G4, 12 iBook with the combo
 drive. She is running OS
X of course. I just realized something odd: when she
 watches a movie in DVD
Player, even if she chooses Full screen, the
 background gets black but the
picture stays about half the screen.

Is this normal for that model? I've tried everything
 I could think of, the
image never extends to the width or height of the
 screen. How can that be?

 -Laurent.

Have you tried Command-0 (Zero) and Command-F. Command-0 makes the

Re: iBook DVD Player question

2005-03-21 Thread Jim Dynes
It depends if the movie was made for TV or the silver screen. If it was
made for the silver screen then to get the whole width you will get
black on the top bottom because the height width ratio don't match.

Have you tried Command-0 (Zero) and Command-F. Command-0 makes the

SIMPLE SOLUTION.
Look at the DVD case..(I presume that we are talking about commercial
dvd's) ..Commercial movies are made in both full and wide screen
formats...The widescreen will give you the black above and below the
screen...You may have to look on the bottom back of the case to see
which version it is...Some have it in a broadband across the front top...

Hope this helps..
