Ok, I use SMD and Chicken of the VNC. It's easy...unless you are going through routers at either end, in which case, it can be hell setting it up. Also, and I am pretty sure about this, you will both need broadband connections. If I am wrong on this point, someone else please jump in and say so. So, before we get into a lot of detailed, step-by-step stuff: 1. Do you both have broadband access? 2. Is either of you running a router? I can help you IF neither of you is running a router. If you are, figuring out how to make SMD/VNC work over a router is beyond my abilities and I won't be able to help. Let me know, bob -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... We are both on broadband (DSL) Ok, you install ShareMyDesktop on her system, and something like Chicken of the VNC on your system :<http://cotvnc.sourceforge.net> She will need to start the program, by clicking on the ShareMyDesktop and you will need to direct your client to her IP address. I don't know if Share My Desktop shows that for you or not, but if you click on System Preferences, then netwok and look at the Ethernet card, the IP address will show there. Then start COTVNC and enter that ip address into the connect box, enter the password (if any) and click connect. Then her desktop will appear in the COTVNC window, and you'll be able to control her computer. -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
