.mac email
I posted a question earlier this year regarding the inability for Mail to work with the email accounts of those with .mac accounts and the inability to log in to web-based mail via .mac. I chugged along using my iPhone but a few months later wandered in to the Apple store for the umpteenth time with a very forlorn look on my face over the fact that my email system had gone away forever. One of the employees (one that had been promoted past greeter but not quite yet to genius) had pity on me and really tried to help. He tried every combination of keystrokes and looked all over Apple's site. Then the light bulb over his head came on and he said, "Wait a minute..." He went to iCloud.com and voila! there it was!!! I was able to access my email from my computer. There's always the initial prompt reminding me that I am accessing this with an unsupported browser but the "ignore" option directs you to the screen from .mac. Yay! So, having never really preferred web-based email, now that I can access my email AT ALL from my Mac, is it possible to treat it as a POP account and resume using Mail? My OS is 10.4.11. iCloud vs. G4
I don't post very often and when I do I seem to be told that I posted to the wrong group. Maybe if this is the case again, someone can kindly direct me to the right list. FYI, I've been around since the Quadlist helped me with my Centris 610... For those who don't have a .mac account and wonder what is the problem, after June 30, these accounts will only work on newer iPhones/ iPads/iPods, Macs that run Lion, and PCs that run Windows Vista or Windows 7. I have a G4 Powerbook. I had to upgrade my phone so I got an iPhone, and it now syncs to the iCloud. But I want to continue to access my email from my computer (imagine that). Has anyone with a G4 been able to sync their .mac email account since this change began to occur? Supposedly we have to convert by June 30, but as of April 9 I have gotten this prompt: The .Mac server “mail.mac.com” rejected the password for user (my username)... and I can't log in. I can't log in from Mail and I can't log in from the .me/.mac links (web-based) either. They are forcing me to either buy a newer computer or give up my .mac email address that I've had since the first day they were available. Incidentally, my login info still works from my iPhone, such as when I DL iTunes, apps, etc. I've chatted with technical support, and they say there's no way... Re: part of my sent folder is deleted
Never mind. I am retarded. I had moved them to another folder. I'm sure my reasoning was due to the fact that I DO have a .mac email account, and everything goes through that cloud... Re: web design software what to get?
Try Freeway Express or Freeway Pro. I know nothing about writing code, and have maintained a website or two with it. I walked into an Apple Store 4 years ago and said, "I need to be a webmaster, I don't know anything about code, and I don't really want to learn DreamWeaver!" The genius walked over to the shelf and handed me Freeway! It is only for Macs!!! Give it a try! Re: Steve Jobs Oh My
I'm looking at the stock history. I don't really think they saw "good times" while he was gone, and in fact it looks like stock had little success until a bit of good times in 99. The computers that Apple created while the other CEOs were coming and going were boring beige pizza boxes. I know because I had one. ~ Claire > Jobs left (was pushed out of) Apple in the mid 80's. I have a G4 Powerbook. I downloaded the beta and then it wouldn't install. In checking the website it appeared to require an Intel Mac. I assumed that was the reason for not installing, so I trashed it. I have Picasa on my PC and I love it. Since I only use the PC for work (real estate), I did not already have other apps in place to manage photos.
