I love this game, but it freezes up on me. It also makes soundpilate go haywire. For those of you who might not know, it is a program, that I bought which makes each key sound like the typewriter. Are these the magical creatures of LeGuin, the evil servants of the Dark Lord of Tolkien, the friendly dragons of Perne or something different? Well, I do not understand the question to well. Are you talking about the mane charictor? Or you're enimeeys? 3. Who are the enemies that we will be fighting? Well, I do not understand that question eather. 4. Will the dragon warriors be able to fly? Yup, you bet they will be able to fly. One of the cheat codes is even, uh, well, I will let you find that out for you're self. Smile. 5. What kind of weaponry do they have, a breath weapon, claws, bite, tail, other weapons? They got fire you can uh, well, fire at other dragons, but you better be careful, get to close to a wall, and boomb! cheat code for that to. 6. Will dragons be able to cast magic spells or use mind powers in some fashion? Nah, did not plan that. 7. What is the physical setting of the game, i.e. a temple, a dragon cave, a battlefield or something else? Well, it all depens on the level. I have coded the first to levels, and they take place in a forest, and near a valcano. 8. What kind of sound environment are you going to create? Is this to be a full 3d game, a side-scroller, a turn-based game, what? Full 3d game is what I am going fore. 9. Will players have choices in creating their dragon warriors, or are the characters pregenerated? The charictors are pregenerated, but there are cheat code dragons that you can get. 10. What game controls do you expect people to use, i.e. keyboard, mouse, gamepad/other game controller, joystick? I plan this game to use the key bord. Ok, hope this helps, let me know if you need mor info. ___ Gamers mailing list .. Hi, Ivan. Well, do keep in mind there is a growing, I do mean growing, user base who no longer use Jaws, because people are sick and tired of Freedom Scientific's poor management of Jaws, bugs, etc. Unfortunately, not all screen readers have implamented support for Java which is still a saur point for non-Jaws users. Re: [Audyssey] Fw: e ray games up date
Hi, Raul. Well spoken. At least you are able to fraze it nicer than I feel about it. I am personally a bit frustrated at the lack of info, and I'm not happy about a thread on list that generates lots of mail with no real info being generated. That is why Ivan is now taking heat. He is talking about a game which has no proof of existance, and for me some detailed discussion about it would be allot of heading in that direction. I have some opinions which I will leave unspoken, but I just wonder if Ivan even knows where he is really going with the project himself. Raul A. Re: [Audyssey] Fw: e ray games up date
Hello, Ivan. you know what? When you get in to a business, any business, you will always have your critics. I've had a few write in to USA Games and made complaints when I took over Alchemy's operations. However, I had the sense to ignore what was false, and go on and live my life. What makes or breaks a business or person is how the person in question handles themselves while under fire. If people are asking for more info let them have it. Raul and I as well as many others have asked pointed questions with vague and evasive answers at best, and nothing at worst. If you need an example of what info people want read some of the USA Games news letters. I state exactly what I am doing. Spiders now are harder, I am upgrading the sound effects to high grade audio effects, I released trailors to let people here work done so far, announce difficulty levels, and of course with STFC people can actually play it and know what it has or does not have. From you everyone seams to ask and get short vague answers in return. That doesn't build trust or confidence. People ask is this a side-scoller, arcade, fps, etc and we don't get any conclusive answer on it. We ask what are the 15 levels suppose to be like. Again zippo. I'm getting a bit ticked off that you are filling up my inbox with talk about Dragon warriors, but all it has been is hot air and no info. If you want people to stop breathing dragon fire your direction put out info or stop writing messages until you have something conclusive to report. That's all I ask. Re: [Audyssey] Ivan's new game
Hi, Damien. I was not refering to java applet programs that use the MS html host aplet. I am discussing java applications built upon the accessible swing classes. These are full applications and not java applets. There is allot of confusion among non-Java programmers about the differences in Java applications and Java applets. Some people even make the mistake of calling Netscape's java script programming language Java when the two languages Java and Java Script are totally different languages. Anyway, the point was going to make is that a Windows application written in Java built upon swing don't use the MS html applet. meeping necdet wrote. > The thing is though, some systems crash on java applications that use the > microsoft html host applet (mshta.exe). Re: [Audyssey] superdog
Hi Cary, When the cat gets close, the dog growls and barks like crazy. When the dog reaches 25 and 50 bones eaten he makes a short bark and you hear the sound of me digging into the box of milk bones and scatter them over the yard. It is really the sound of me scattering them over my bed. Re: [Audyssey] SuperDog's Bone Hunt game
Hi Che, There are no cat eating sounds in the game! On the easy or standard levels the dog just stops and barks as the cat runs to the fence and in the hard level the dog chases the cat but it always jumps over the fence. Of course the cat is curious so it jumps back into the yard and heads for the dog after a bit of time. Even if my dog caught the cat it would not be a fare fight since SuperDog is only ten pounds. smiles, We got him to bark by telling him we will take away his cell phone. Hi Damion, Thanks for the bug report. I should have zeroed out the score at the start of the sounds review. As for the sounds you'll have to ask my dog since he has all the digital management rights to them. smiles, I will probably include them on the CD for Sarah when that game is finished as an extra treat for the CD purchasers. Re: [Audyssey] SuperDog's Bone Hunt game
Didn't I say that but a lot more compressed? . Seriously though. To my knowledge if a developer wants to use the GMA game engine he/she needs to get a license from GMA Games (David Greenwood). I do not know the details on cost or for how long it works or if it times out or what kind of programming knowldege you need. If you don't need much programming skills like those used in C++ , C#, or VB I might give it a crack and make a game of my own. I always wanted to make one of my own games but would not be sure of what the theme would be. Re: [Audyssey] Fw: e ray games up date
I would hope that you don't decide on stopping development of a game based on a few negative comments. Think of how few software would be out if this was the approach developers took. Bottom line, is that not everyone is going to want or like this game. Until something is shown from you which can be believable there will always be skeptics. That is only natural. This is why people like Tom don't promise an exact release date for titles under development. I think what Jim was mainly writing about is you have not given us much to go on and your descriptions about the game are rather vague. I personally don't know whether to believe you or not. On one hand I have no reason to not believe you, on the other, you are not really answering our questions very straight forward. All the best. Re: [Audyssey] SuperDog's Bone Hunt game
Hi Damien, The GMA game engine is produced by, can you guess? GMA games! http://www.gmagames.com Most of the games on that site were created with it so they will give you an idea of what it can do. The only ones that were not are the Star Trek and Lone Wolf games. The levels are created by square cells which can be floors or walls and can be populated with objects and creatures. Each object or creature has a data base list of things defining it and what it does plus a trigger that can be set off if certain things happen. You create a text file that tells the game what the game should do if a trigger is set off, like playing a sound or changing a variable or shooting at or moving an object or creature. You can find out more about the details of the engine by contacting GMA games. smiles, Phil - Original Message - From: "meeping necdet" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'Gamers Discussion list'" Sent: Friday, June 02, 2006 1:32 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] SuperDog's Bone Hunt game > How does the gma game engine work exactly? I guess I would consider things for your game like power ups, such as getting fire breath for destroying one type of enemy, and freezing breath weapon to paralyze other types. Maybe an acid breath weapon to dissolve various things in the way like doors or statues etc. Maybe giving a double flame on some occasions to increase firepower, perhaps a minor invincible power up to avoid damage, maybe the dragon can summon smaller dragons to surround him and shoot right along with your character, but they would be susceptible to damage and destruction. Also some ideaas might be eating virgin princesses to restore health. some more ideas might be eating cows and sheep for health, having a "armor" on the dragon which gets damaged every time it hits, or it fallsoff when hit, and you need to find another dragon armor suit to put on. maybe your dragon can summon lots of goblins and orcs to attack large numbers of bad guys. But mostly I am tapped for ideas. hope it helps The truth will set you free... The thing is though, some systems crash on java applications that use the microsoft html host applet (mshta.exe). Mine doesn't work with games such as dark destroyer, tarzan junior, 3dsnake and duckblaster, and I don't think those are game bugs because it was the microsoft html script host applet that crashed.
