Re: [Audyssey] rail racer mouse

2007-06-20 Thread Che
You naturally decelerate in the curves, the more accurately you lean, the
less you slow down.
If you are taking curves very badly, you will slow down a good bit,
likewise if you are scraping against the side, you will slow down even more.
I reccomend you adjust your wing angle to the highest setting until you
get used to the curves, then gradualy drop it as you get the feel of
leaning.
  Later,
  Che

The old 1.1 version of the framework adds an extra user account to your

Re: [Audyssey] RR chat session was:Re: MOUSE OR KEYBOARD

2007-06-20 Thread Cary
You don't need a lot of room. I'd say a good 4-5 inch square would suffice,
and if you need it to be smaller, you can adjust the mouse speed/sensitivity
to make the same exact movements but just on a smaller scale, if that makes
sense.
You definitely wanna play with the mouse. I get significantly better lap
and course times playing with the mouse than I do with the keyboard. I love
the mouse as a game control device, it totally rocks, and I think it would
be s cool for games such as SOD and Sarah, to be able to walk forward by
pushing the mouse forward, turning obviously by moving the mouse left and
right, you'd get soo much more controlled movement that way, at least I
think so. I was first exposed to games with mouse support when I bought
Liam's Judgment Day, and actually it was that game that basically convinced
me to go ahead and buy RR in the beta phase, I loved playing with the mouse
s much in JD I knew I'd love it playing with it in RR and I was right.
It really does rock. So I definitely wholeheartedly recommend getting a
mouse. It may take a bit of getting used to but I think in the end you'll
find you get significantly better lap/course times with it because there is
so much more precise control you get with a mouse. And it really does feel
as though you're controlling the racer, not just mashing on keys.
Just my $0.02. *plink plink*

you could probably use the touch pad to control the car if you wanted to.
try it and see what happens after setting control to mouse.

I got the mouse to work. It's one of those mouses with a ball in the middle

Re: [Audyssey] RR chat session was:Re: MOUSE OR KEYBOARD

2007-06-20 Thread Che
I only have about a six inch square myself, and that works fine, you just
have to practicepicking the mouse up with the edge of your fingers and
placing it back down.
Another trick is to reset the left to right position of the mouse when you
aren't in a curve, as it has no effect on the straights.
I reccomend you subscribe to the rail racer list if you purchased the
game, the experienced beta testers can offer some really good advice on
playing.

Re: [Audyssey] Rail Racer Classes

2007-06-20 Thread Che
There are currently 15 classes, to advance in class, you must have higher
and higher amounts of money in your account. Here is the class breakdown:
class 2 $5
class 3 10
class 4 20
class 5 30
Class 6 40
Class 7 50
Class 8 60
Class 9 70
Class 10 80
Class 11 1 million
Class 12 1.2 milyan
Class 13 1.5 milyan
Class 14 1.8 milyan
Class 15 2.2 milyan

I will be introducing some more upgrades in the future for the higher
classes, the way some of these guys are racing, it won't take them long to
get to class 10.
If anyone has suggestions for upgrades, feel free to send them along.
  Later,
  Che

[Audyssey] Rail Racer Classes

2007-06-20 Thread Shadow Dragon
Anyone know how to advance beyond class 3? There's upgrades in the shop that go
all the way up to class 8, so I assume there's gotta be higher classes. I can't
beat any track on Pro accept for one of the class one tracks, and I can barely
scrape normal on others. Is it a points system for advancement? Or do you have
to complete certain goals like in judgement day.

2007-06-20 Thread shaun everiss
I should mention now that if you don't have dotnet 1.1, 2.0 or 3.0
you can do a windows update or if you use auto update you will get them to.
You may have to restart 3 or 4 times when you get dotnet.
if manual, you need to do 1 windows update to get everything, the
next is service packs and the next is all the little things.
And then directx.

  Hi guys,
If you have only the .net framework 2.0 or 3.0 installed, you will need to
install 1.1 as well for the registration to work. I know it worked with the
demo, but the registration program requires it.
Also, if you have technical issues with the game, please email me off

and if it is something that everyone needs to know about, I'll post it for

How long did it take you to get your Email? Obviously not too terribly long
or you wouldn't be posting. I just want to make sure. I should probably also
turn off my Internet Security program while I register since I still have
trouble configuring it to reognize safe sites and I would like it to
recognize the Rail Racer server thingy so that I don't have to turn it off
every time I want to post.

[Audyssey] rail racer something rivial

2007-06-20 Thread Everett Elam
Hey che!
You didn't list that h honks the horn in the demo version. Not that this is
deathly important to success, but one of the things I loved about racing
against my friend in topspeed2 was laying on the horn while waiting for a race,
or honking as I triumphantly left him in the dust. Call it blindyness, call it
immaturity, but that horn you have ain't layable! *grins* I suppose I could add
my own, but I think the way you have it loup doesn'[t really allow you to lay
on the horn like you would in ts... if that makes any sense whatsoever...

[Audyssey] Sryth Runeskin

Hey all

Just wondering if the other Runeskin adventures have been taken down and
replaced by the proving grounds Silver Crest? Finally got past Dor Droat,
and went to both Talonis and Trithak without finding any signs of his
minions. Or am I just missing the proper location?

Thanks

2007-06-20 Thread Jesse Bollinger
Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good baseball game
simulator? I've playede Jim Kitchen's and it's great.
I was wondering if there are any others out there?
Even an online simulation game would do.

Thanks for the help,

Jesse

When people dream of getting rich, it's about more than nice clothes and fancy
vacations. Being rich means freedom: to spend your time as you please, to

Paradoxically, the road to riches often means acting

Re: [Audyssey] The Rail Racer demo is ready to race

2007-06-20 Thread Davy Kager
Hi!

I'm NOT the PlayingInTheDark guy, but I happen to know that the people there
are working on a new community site, since the current one is some sort of
down. I suppose the cars 'n tracks will be back on there once it's
accomplished.

Hope this helps even though it had nothing to do with Rail Racer.
Cheers!

Hello Davy, questionf or you? Has the playing in the dark site been updated
and are the cars back on that site? I was just wondering. I also want to
know are the tracks up there as well? From time to time I would check for
updates but haven't found any. it just simply said at that particular time,
someone broke into the site and it had to be repaired. If you can please
anser this question it would be greatly appriciated

Hi Jason,
Just replace the currentengine1.wav
with the sound of horse hoofs with the same file name and you got a horse
racing game!
Of course you got to do it with AIEngine1.wav too.
Great game Che!
Or what we should call you the big cheese!

Re: [Audyssey] Rale racer impressions

2007-06-20 Thread jason
Hello all it's Jason I just wanted to let you know that I like the game too.
great work with it I hope we have more versions of this game in the future
maybe you can make another wild west game wher you have old western towns
where you can gamble, dance, and just do that western thing. I also want
games in the western game as well for instance gun slinging contests, horse
racing, and a game called cowboys versus indieans if possible I think it
would be cool.
Any wayh keep up the good work Che and all I had to do everyone is download
the latest version of direct x and the game works perfect and che your
instructions were explaniatory so for those out there who don't understand
his instructions read them and follow them carefully, they are not
conplicated.
anyway that's all for now.
your friend,
Jason

2007-06-20 Thread jason
Hello Davy, questionf or you? Has the playing in the dark site been updated
and are the cars back on that site? I was just wondering. I also want to

updates but haven't found any. it just simply said at that particular time,
someone broke into the site and it had to be repaired. If you can please
anser this question it would be greatly appriciated

Re: [Audyssey] a suggestion for jim's bop it game

2007-06-20 Thread Jim Kitchen
Hi nicol,

Actually the original Bop It game only had pull it, twist it and bop it. The
newer Bop It Extreme is what has the additional flick it and spin it. Also you
win Bop It at 100, Bop It Extreme you have to get 250. I was able to beat Bop
It and even set out to do so while recording. I have gotten over 100 on Bop It
Extreme but never have gotten to 250, so I don't even know what kind of sound
it makes when you beat it let alone set out to beat it while recording.

BFN

 Jim

Don't ask me-I'm making this up as I go.

Re: [Audyssey] rail racer jumpjets

2007-06-20 Thread Che
Hey, thanks for the compliments man.
Regarding the idea of making rail racer battle capable, I was actually
going to do this, but decided to spend the time on creating online play
instead, I think looking back it was a good decision.
Regarding the rest of your ideas, all I can say is Rail Racer 2 perhaps?
  Later,
  Che
