Hello,

In the US, the total amount of money you can have is $2000 if you are
single and $3000 if you are a married couple who are both on SSI or SSDI.

As for working, theyre are ways to get around the restrictions in order
to earn some money, but it is complicated, and if you screw the
calculations up, the government comes down quite hard on you.

Basically, if you receive SSDI, you can earn up to $700 per month
without penalty. Above that and you need to be very careful about
including your blind-related work expenses, and you must be very good
about keeping the proofs of everything you claim.

SSD will allow you to earn nice amounts of money for up to nine months
on the trial back to work program, and then you can receive another
three months if you follow the paperwork properly. After 12 months, the
SSD, and all related Medicare and MedicAid are removed. Finally, after
the year of benefits while earning other money has completed, you cannot
do it again for 72 months because, if you do, there is a good chance
that it could take up to two years to reestablish your benefits when you
stop working.

pluss, once your off disability bennifit, your off!

On the occasions that relatives have left me money or I've been able to

sinse otherwise I'd actually be seriously struggling to ahve enough money

You also under Uk law cannot legally work more than 16 hours a month and
keep disability bennifits, and you can only work that 16 hours for a
six month period as on the job training.

For this reason my brother is stil! working voluntarily for a law firm

cannot earn the money without losing his bennifits, and he couldn't
make more than what his bennifits are giving him currently without working

And that's aside from the £18000 student lone he stil owes the government
for his five years at university geting a law degree and legal practice
course, which is going up by an extra £1000 a year!

Needless to say, this is also a practical question of disability, which
the deffinition in my thesis is going to address.

Other than the fact that a passive splitter jack halves the signal
each set of headphones are being sent, which most likely wouldn't even
make a particularly noticeable difference unless you're using mega
good cans, there's nothing but fun to this idea. I remember playing
Mortal Kombat 3 and some flavour of Quake over LAN when I was at a
college with a very liberal IT department hehe, but in actual coding
terms I should imagine playing over LAN isn't too much different then
playing over whatever protocol people choose to use to connect gamers
over the internet, except there'd probably be even more tech support
involved for the devs because LAN options are way easier to mess up.

Dark, were you thinking more along the lines of a 2 player setup where
each player has half the keyboard or if a game was turn-based? So 2
people yes, but on one computer, as opposed to more traiditional LAN
 or net play?

If so, it sounds like fun.
Actually even if not, it sounds like fun.

I like the shields, but the problem I find with them is that they run out
unexpectedly and I find myself being attacked. If we had a 3 second warning
or something before the shield ran out and if we could activate another
shield in that time it would be awesome. main problem here is we have to
wait for the shield to run out before activating another.

One thing I'm not clear on is how to use them. Do you activate them

bar each time you want to do damage. Thanks.

Hi,
No, you don't have to download the game to a cd. In fact, you can't
anyway. If you go to the Draconis web site using Firefox or Internet
Explorer when you press enter on the link to download the game a save
dialog will pop up asking you where to download the game. You can just
point it to a place such as your Documents or My Documents folder, and
let it go. When the download is complete you can open your Documents or
My Documents folder and press enter on the Monkey Business setup file
you downloaded.

Hi Dana,
You can only download Monkey Business so you need to find someone that can
download the game then copy it to a CD or DVD depending on what drive your
laptop has.
For a computer without a CD or DVD drive, it probably has a SD card slot
that can also hold the game download.
Once you install the game you do not need to keep the cd or sd card in the
drive as the game installer copies it too your hard drive.

A three second warning though, so that you can peg it away from most of
the enemies before your shield stops might be a good idea however.

Yeah, so true. I've never understood while older versions of Monkey

In the old days it was possible to remap certain keys on a keyboard using a
part of the control panel, but not sure it can still happen generally, but
just wondering now if you couldn't do something like that using your screen

OTOH, I do pretty much always use full USB keyboards with all of my laptops.

Monkey business is one of the most annoying for a laptop, sinse it
requires keys a laptop doesn't have, unless Draconis have fixed this
sinse I last checked.

Just about every other audio game though uses more standard keys exactly
for this reason.

Hi everyone. I am just wondering if a game can be made for a laptop. When
I play my games, it's on a laptop and there is some keys my laptop don't
have. For example, the scroll lock key, so I don't know how many monkeys
I have left to catch on Monkey Business. So, just a thought. Enjoy

Hadn't thought of/looked into the games verifying the sound files.

No rush on this one anyway, it was more of a bit of experimentation as such,
so, if I need/want the list of sound files, will remember to ask you.

Hi Jacob,

That sounds pretty smart to reward yourself with some games after getting
stuff done that you need to.

Allot of my games check to see if the sound files have been changed and
will kick you out of the game if they have been changed, the trivia game
engine is not one of them. though. So you know, you can change them if
you like. If you need it, I can send you a list of the names of the
trivia game engine sound files.

So far I only plan to just play around a bit with that offroad bike next,
but will maybe try pull of a minor wheelie if the rest of it goes well
enough.

Also, while did a hell of a lot of travelling on bikes back when could still
see as such, the last time, I got up to around 70km/h, in 3rd gear on the
skid pan of a local race track, which definitely made me smile, and
apparently made a few of the sighted guys a bit nervous watching me...LOL!

Re: [Audyssey] Smugglers 4 Woes

2009-11-23 Thread dark

Hi.

firstly, you need to use the jaws curser to navigate the game,
including the start up screen, i'll leave it up to people who actually
use Jaws to discuss that, but just be aware standard tabbing and
arrowing in your usual reading mode wont' work.

Second, you need to go to the options menue and click on the accessibility
mode, which will make the game use more text, and be all round more
accessible, sinse by default without this mode, the game comes with
some unlabled graphics an swiftly scrolling messages.

Bare these in mind and things should work.

Have fun with the game.

[Audyssey] core-exiles

2009-11-23 Thread Nicol Oosthuizen
Although I am not a moderator, I feel like posing a kind request please
to change the subject line.
I am sure everybody will agree that core-exiles and mota8 are 2 vastly
different games and therefore 2 vastly different topics.
Many thanks

Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Any MOTA Beta 8 feedback?

Hello Dark,

I am on core-exiles as of two days ago. I am now at level 5 and still
working my way through the initial missions. I am running Jaws V. 10 on
Windows Vista Office and am not experiencing the problems with the web
interface which you have discussed here. When I use the scan area, jaws
sorts the table out properly. So, after each bit of ship information,
the first button is view which allows you to see specific breakdown of
shields, armor, hull points, number of weapons and tunnage, and finally
the speed of the ship. Then, there is a button labeled engage. Or, you
can just hit the attack button. Both buttons are right after the ship
description and quite easy to find. Note: I am using Internet Explorer
because I could not get Firefox to interact properly with the game.

The only work-around which I need to do is press control-enter any time
a link opens a new window. If I do not manually initiate the new window
call, the link will not activate.

Try downloading the demo of Jaws and playing the game in a 40 minute
slice and see if you still have the same problems with the web
interface. It is a very addicting game.

By the way, my captain name is Mystic in the game.
