Re: [Audyssey] Temporal. Aprone's time traveling strategy game.
Hi AProne, Whoa. You do have a talent for coming up with unusual and innovative concepts. This one fits both labels. Time travel as a game mechanic would never have occurred to me. I imagine there is an almost infinite number of possible solutions, and ways to optimize your play to no end. On a similar note, the turn-based mechanics appeal to me as well. I've long had a passion for turn-based tactical games, the sort of thing played by sighted people in titles like Steel Panthers: World at War or the recent indie release Frozen Synapse. This is perhaps more of a puzzler than those games would be, but the groundwork seems to be there. Thanks for such a great new toy to play with. Best, Zack. Re: [Audyssey] Lunimals mission 10
Hi Jeremy, I feel that mission 10 is relatively easier as compared to other missions and doesn't take long to complete. Here are some suggestions you might want to consider adding in to make things more difficult for me. 1. Less control over the visiter. he can visit as and when he feels like, but if i think it is not the right time then I have to pay to send him off. and the price gets higher each time. 2. Get tired of eating the same food every meal and request for more variety. 3. Add disasters. Anyhow, just give me some worrys about money. If it comes very easily, anything else won't be a problem. Once again, thanks for the game. 锦发/Steady Goh - Original Message - From: "Jeremy Kaldobsky" To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Friday, June 10, 2011 3:02 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Lunimals version 2.5b You're quite welcome Steady, and I'm glad you're enjoying the game. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] Rock Band 3: Grenade expert pro keys GS
Well, I can certainly try. my question is, do you truly wish to learn?many people say oh yeah I wanna learn to play, but they don't have the dedication or patience to actually learn. I won't lie, it'll be hard when you first start out, even if you start on easier difficulties, due to the fact you won't be familiar with the game's engine and such. however once you start figuring out things, you'll notice that your song learning skills are increasing. all these songs I've been putting up recently aren't archived,I've actually been learning them then posting on here. I'd say the average song might take a couple hours for me to learn depending on its complexity and length of course. but at first it took me a long time. also, if you don't have the instruments, you won't be able to learn. you need rock band disc, and either a mic or 3 depending on whether you want to do harmonies with friends, a guitar or 2, drums, and a keyboard. also you'll need either a ps3, xbox 360, or wii. Once you have some or all of that stuff ready, just send me your info and we'll get started! I'd be willing to teach anyone who wants to learn btw. remember that rock band conference I mentioned? I still want to do it. however I can't read minds guys, so send me times when you'll be ready to start and such and I'll be happy to help out. - Original Message - From: "Tommy" To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Saturday, June 11, 2011 4:35 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Rock Band 3: Grenade expert pro keys GS Will you teach me how to play that game? Re: [Audyssey] Temporal. Aprone's time traveling strategy game.
This should come as no surprise to anyone who followed Lunimals, but I'm already posting updates and the game is only about an hour old, lol. There's no better way to spot bugs, or gather useful suggestions, than to post a game for everyone to try. If you've already been playing the game, I'd ask that you once again download the latest version. I've fixed a few reported bugs, including one that would sometimes fail to report guards in a room if there were exactly 2. I've added in the suggestion to list other instances of yourself along with the room description. At any time, remember you can press C to refresh your messages after loading up a saved game. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. [Audyssey] Airik the Cleric a scam?
The subject line pretty much says it all. FOr the record I don't personally subscribe to that belief and, for the moment at least there only appear to be a few people who actually do. But since Airik didn't come out in May like Jacob said it might, those few people have been making their voices heard over on the audiogames.net forum, expressing the belief that the whole thing is a scam and this smug satisfaction, which I quite frankly find highly offensive, that they didn't preorder the game and therefore can laugh at those who did if, by chance, they turned out to be right. Well Jacob posted on the forum this morning with a list of additional features that would be in the full game and an admonishment to people to take differing time zones into consideration when awaiting their web links to the full version of the game. And apparently people are checking their Email every five seconds. I'm not quite that bad but almost. LOL. All I can say for sure is that if there isn't a major update soon the scam mentality is going to start to really take hold, which of course won't be good for Jacob if he wants to establish himself in this community. I will of course eat a few pairs of shorts if, after sending this, I hapen to check my own Email and find my link to the full game. Re: [Audyssey] Help with creating a I.F.
Hi Michael, If you want to look at source code for Inform 7 games, or just about any IF creation system for that matter, I recommend looking on the Interactive Fiction Archive at www.ifarchive.org/. In the Games/Source folder, there are subfolders for systems like TADS and Inform. (You may have to look under ZCode. In that folder is lots of code for both version 6 and 7 games.) You might also want to look at the "Cloak of Darkness" page which is for a simple game that has been ported to various systems. The source code can either be read online or downloaded, along with the full working game, for whatever system you select. It can be found at: http://www.firthworks.com/roger/cloak/index.html Hope this helps. [Audyssey] Virtual Machines was from an end user
Hi Chris, Well, at the moment I an currently running Windows 7 in a virtual machine using VM Ware on top of Ubuntu 11.04. The problem with that solution is that it is very memory and CPU intensive as Windows 7 eats nearly a gig of memory in of itself, and ever since Microsoft added the 3d Windows Arrow interface and better graphics and animations the op requires a lot of CPU power to run. Running Windows 7 in a virtual machine is a real performance killer, and running apps in it drags my laptop down to a crawl. My hope here was be able to get some games etc to work under Wine so I can just dump Windows completely from my machine since it is a needeless CPU and memory hog when running. Re: [Audyssey] Help with creating a I.F.
Hi Michael, No problem. What exactly do you need help with. Below I have written a very simple Haunted House game where you walk around a haunted house. There isn't any combat here, but shows how to initialize a basic game world and add a few characters to it. "Haunted House" by Thomas Ward The Entry Hall is a room. North of the Entry Hall is the Main Parlor. East of the Main Parlor is the Dining Area. West of the Main Parlor is the Old Library. The Dusty Attic is above the Main Parlor. The Spooky Basement is below the main Parlor. Dracula is a man in the Spooky Basement. Bats is a animal in the Dusty Attic. Ghost is a man in the Old Library. Witch is a woman in the Main Parlor.
