[Audyssey] topspeed 3 custom tracks and vehicles

Below is the download links for 2 adventure tracks and a custom vehicle. All 
have been edited to take advantage of the new features in topspeed 3.

This car is created hoping to have another alternative selection to the 
classic and quatro which most racers use should it becomes official. It has 
the highest top speed as compared to the other official vehicles, but the 
acceleration is slow. To make up for that, you can make hairpin turns at a 
higher speed. You will get the feel of catching up from behind, but since 
the top speed is so high, you need 8 gears to push it up.

could be found, but if I remember correctly, this source is gone for 
years.

And my other two questions are related to Top Speed 3 exclusively.

is the apparent lack of any publicly available language packs for the 
latest title at all...
Are there only English speaking players novadays or is it taking so long 
to do a translation in any language now?

You can learn earlier spells and skills at any time, so if you want to
go get them go ahead.  You don't have to learn everything all at once
(in fact you'll have to wait on some stuff, because there aren't
enough practices until much later in the game!)

[Audyssey] suggestion for improving message handling in castaways

Hi list.
I am playing a game with about 70 people at the moment.
I saw a message a while ago from someone experiencing huge message 
delays in a game, and she speculated it was because of the number of 
people she had in her population.
I two am now experiencing this, and I wonder if it could be a 
combination of the number of people, and also the number of events 
taking place in the game at once, for example zombies advance on to the 
land very quickly.
so I think either something needs to be done to improve reporting of 
messages.
alternatively another thought I had, is add a keystroke to flush the 
message buffer and delete all queued messages.
as for example, zombies burned down my tavern, I heard that message 
fine, but I find frequently if I go to put up a building, it gets 
destroyed but I don't get the message about the destruction til 5 
minutes, sometimes longer after the event, this was the case twice when 
I tried to rebuild the tavern.
if we had a flush message buffer key, this would at least allow us to 
clear it completely so we can get a more accurate picture of the situation.

We do have a key to flush the buffer actually.  The tilde/guave key (~) will 
pull the next message from the buffer.  You can keep pressing it until it makes 
a noise to indicate that there are no more messages in reserve.
Holding shift and pressing guave/tilde brings up the general message menu.  
Once you are working with a huge population and the messages are piling up, 
many people will disable certain types of messages to prevent them from being 
displayed.  For example, in mission 4 I eventually disabled the enemy 
advancement messages once my population got larger.  That 1 change almost 
eliminated my problem of back logging messages.  I think I eventually disabled 
a few more as my settlement grew, but that's the general idea.
Disabled messages are remembered between games though, so don't forget that 
you've turned some off.

In the version I'm still working on, the game uses sound and a spoken number to 
tell you there are backlogged messages whenever you pause the game.  That will 
probably help people realize they need to check it.

 as for example, zombies burned down my tavern, I heard that
 message fine, but I find frequently if I go to put up a
 building, it gets destroyed but I don't get the message
 about the destruction til 5 minutes, sometimes longer after
 the event, this was the case twice when I tried to rebuild
 the tavern.
 if we had a flush message buffer key, this would at least
 allow us to clear it completely so we can get a more
 accurate picture of the situation.

I'll take that into consideration.  Until then I would recommend that you stay 
on top of the illnesses before they get too 
out of hand, haha!  I did pretty good with the plague on easy, but I had also 
used a tome to upgrade my doctor so that he was 
faster at curing the ill.

 I am still playing castaways mission 4,
 and I think from playing it quite a bit a change really
 needs to be made to the way doctors heal people.
 at the moment, they heal people in the order they become
 ill, now OK, that's fine when you don't have plague to deal
 with.
 however, once plague gets hold of your population healing
 in the order people get ill makes no sense at all.
 as if this was a real life situation, doctors would be
 wanting all the help they could get, so surely would
 concentrate on medical personell first in order they can
 help them out later with the rest of the population.
 as it stands, once plague takes hold of your population no
 matter how many doctors you create and upgrade, you are
 basically screwed because they get the plague soon after,
 and although they may heal the odd person chances are your
 doctors are berried right at the back of the queue.
 so of course you create more doctors til you run out of
 useable peasants.

Correct.  When you upgrade your doctor into a Physician, he won't do any other 
job besides healing people.  I've done this in mission 3 as well, but 
especially in mission 4 it is useful to have someone who heals faster than 
normal doctors.  From time to time he is wasted because no one is ill, but 
that's the price you pay I suppose.

 If you upgrade the doctor, he won't
 ever do anything else, right?  Like substitute as a

The new Block Party update does not work.  I've uninstalled the old version and 
after installing the update have come to the conclusion that something is very 
wrong as the game will not start.  Just wanted people to know.

I've been giving this a lot of thought.  As the complexity of the game
increases, the message buffer problem gets worse and worse.  I think the
solution may be to look at the concept of the time line.  Rather than trying
to keep things in real time, perhaps we should just move one message at a
time.  If multiple ticks take place between messages you could have a
message saying that so much time goes by.  If there are multiple messages on
a particular tick, the messages could be given in one buffer.  You'd have to
manually advance from tick to tick, which might be irritating, but I can't
think of another way to solve the problem as the complexity continues to
increase.

you are right about symbian being discontinued in favour of windows 
phone 7, and although I just got a nokia e7 to try it out, I am 
beginning to feel its more hastle than its worth, as the keyboard 
part just isn't well designed, its so easy to knock the touch screen 
with your hand while texting.
and although with mobile speak this isn't a huge problem, I do find

it like I could do with a phone that has a physical keyboard, as I 
would have to have the I phone in one hand, and keyboard in another.
unfortunately I think its unlikely the I phone will ever get a 
physical keyboard, given that steve jobs hates physical buttons, and 
feels that devices should be asthetically pleasing and easy for the 
sighted world to use.

[Audyssey] Castaways: idle military units?

Ok, I'm armpit deep in zombies with raids coming, and I have idle military
units.  At the moment, I have an idle bowman.  I have an idea that the game
may not use more than five of each type defensively.  Is this correct?

There is no limit on the number of defensive units you can have.  First make 
sure you don't have territorial turned off, press T to turn it on if it is off. 
 The next thing is that if you pause the game, you might be seeing idle troops 
who would be heading back out to fight but you just haven't unpaused yet for 
them to have the chance.  If neither of those are the problem please let me 
know.  Also a saved game would be good to help me track down the problem.
